I don't know what Klopp is telling some of these players, but we've suddenly become a very attractive proposition. He's got Lemar wanting to join, VvD rejecting the likes of Chelsea and City, Keita commiting a year early to us and Oxlade rejecting 180k/w and Chelsea.

Even if we don't close some of these deals, if we can keep qualifying for the Champions League, the future will be bright.

If he can turn us into Dortmund with money we could well be irresistible.

It's almost as if the manager you spent all of last season slagging off is respected by players as someone that can get the most out of them.

If we get Lemar and keep Coutinho, outside of very few super-elite players, there’s almost nobody that comes in to our attacking unit and makes us significantly better. Firmino, Mane, Salah, Coutinho, Lemar. That’s best part of half a billion pounds worth of players. You need to start looking at Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez, if you want to make any significant improvements on that attack.

Did it make Matip ? Running down a contract is legitimate and although it can leave a sour taste sometimes it is perfectly acceptable, these days especially, years ago not so much. It is now a big part of the game.

Signing 5 and 6 year contracts and then crying like a tart and refusing to play for a move is neither acceptable nor should it be entertained. That includes VVD but he would be our cunt wouldn't he.

Happened to us before with Torres and Mascherano particularly, cunts gonna be cunts.

Torrens had a release clause which was met in full. No issue from me there, although I was pissed off at the time.

I've been reading the excitement on all Liverpool forums and it's made me realise just how pessimistic I am. I don't think we will sign any fucker. The whole lemar and van dyke just feels like the big players we've made an opera of going for before and then going oh well we tried. To be fair the club made me this way.

it comes from years of "this summer will be our biggest ever" links to multiple brilliant players who would undoubtedly improve the team, to signing rising stars with potential.

the hope doesnt just kill you in the short term, it makes you sceptical on all future links.

You're right though, there's nothing to be excited about... There may well be something to be excited about come Friday but as of right now it's just talk so why would anyone get carried away with that?

OK. I am off work today and am ready to follow the transfer sagas closely.

I have got some websites ready to track aircraft over the North-West and I have Twitter open ready to follow accounts created on behalf of family cars. What else is needed?

I'm so well versed in Freddo arithmetic that I don't even need a calculator anymore.

1 Freddo = 1 Freddo

1 Sakho = 150 million Freddos

1 Oxlaide-Chamberlain = 175 million Freddos

1 Wayne Rooney = No Freddos left because the fat cunt has eaten them all
