Places to eat in Manchester

I'm looking for recommendations for Indian and Italian restaurants in Manchester, please. Nothing too fancy, just good, honest food. My wife is a vegetarian and I tend to prefer vegetable curries rather than meat ones. We favour traditional fare over new fangled, of-the-minute stuff. Licensed premises is unimportant, as I don't drink anymore and my wife isn't fussed about having alcohol with her meal.

I've just googled 'Haven't a fucking clue' but can't seem to find it. Where in Manchester is it, mate?

It's likely in Salford, mate. Everything in Salford hasn't a fucking clue, that would be my guess.

And enjoy your food. Indian is my favourite, you can't beat it.

San Carlo is supposed to be ok, don't go to Rosso as its owned by that camel lipped cunt.

You could always try Greens in Didsbury (15 mins on the tram from town) which is Simon Rimmers vegetarian restaurant. There are plenty of pubs close to it too, as well as the ginger peril that is Stu Monty.

Sorry - just read about you not boozing. But still worth a trip out. The bird from Velvet Underground used to live in the street opposite Greens. So did I but I can't sing.

I've been to San Carlo. It's expensive and full of cunts.

I loved it.

Piccolino is likely  to be a bit cheaper bit still a bit wanky (I've only been to the Liverpool version).

Good shout for Greens, Bistro 156 round the corner on Burton Road is excellent as well. And not a chain place.

Avoid Curry mile. It's full of shisha bars and nothing worthwhile.

Try Zouk for Curry and Don Giovanni's for Italian. Other than that you have Akbars which is a chain and you are always feel in a rush. Eastzeast which you have in Liverpool too.

Mowgli in the Corn exchange is worthwhile too but it more like street food but does have good vegetarian options.
