Had a cracking tea. No photos as left my phone charging in my hotel room, but…

salt and pepper squid to start was wonderful.

stone bass fillet with roasted potatoes and smother stuff for mains. Not had stone bass before and it was good.

sticky toffee pudding and a decaf coffee for afters. Splendid.

stuffed now.

Business trip to Ypres. Been coming here a lot this year so working my way through the local restaurants. Steak tartare with chips, bit disappointing but the waitress was nice so it’s swings and roundabouts.

Imagine the parasites living in that clump.

It's always a brave soul that follows up a Lifey Sunday roast. I threw together a chicken noodle soup from some leftovers earlier, with plenty left for tomorrow.

Leftover chicken thighs, noodles, sweetcorn, spinach, some gyoza, a [badly peeled] egg and a broth made from homemade stock, garlic, onions, star anise, soya, mirin and miso.

Sensational.
