  1. The draw isn't the issue, you'd have probably taken that given the context and location, the issue is having them by the balls and instead of squeezing, you turn around and pull your pants down. Winners don't do that.

  3. Honestly, I've been wondering this - the sheer size of Klopp is one of his assets. In western cultures, like it or not, big people always have an advantage over smallies. (I'm a smally and I'm telling myself this is the reason I've never got to the top. For me, it's certainly more pertinent than my caustic personality, sallow social presence, poor dress dress and questionable personal hygiene.)

  4. We had people conceding the title at the start of Feb when Arsenal beat us, and when City had 2 games in hand and would go 1 point clear if they won them both. Here we are in April still ahead. Shit result today, but let's just see how we get on and support the team along the way, without calling them shit bottle job cunts.

  5. Good man yourself. Go and support Man City then. I hear they’ve found 115 innovative ways to do better in that way.

  8. Monday Apr 1: Been thinking about what I said last week about not having any better suggestions than the managers that have been linked with us so far, which is basically Amorim and De Zerbi as there hasn’t really been any credible links to anyone else. It’s a sad state of affairs that neither of those feel right at all and I don’t want either, but there isn’t anyone else who ticks all boxes either. So if there’s no-one who ticks every box, no clear outstanding candidate, then shouldn’t we just go with someone who we at least know understands the club? My first choice would be Pep Lijnders, but for whatever reason he isn’t even getting any consideration from the club and he’s definitely leaving. So how about, and hear me out here, we at least speak to Gerrard and sound him out? I know he was shit at Villa and that they’ve gone from strength to strength without him, but you can’t just dismiss what he did at Rangers and he did spend time here with the 18s learning about Klopp’s methods. He played a big part in developing Curtis so at least we know the kids coming through would be in good hands. I know it’s far from ideal, but put it this way, if he’d stayed at Rangers and the Villa debacle had never happened, he’d be by far and away the obvious choice to succeed Jurgen, so in the absence of any clear and obvious better option, should we not at least be giving him an interview? There are obviously reasons against it, but I can give you reasons against De Zerbi, Amorim or whoever else you want to mention too. And none of them are Liverpool legends who get the club, know what it means to play for this club and who have won trophies with the club. If you take away his time at Villa his CV is actually very similar to Alonso, and we all wanted Xabi so is this such a mad shout? It’s no madder than going for Italian Brendan who was single handedly responsible for letting Everton stay up last season. It’s been Stevie’s dream to manage us and what could be better than Gerrard finally getting his Premier League winners medal as our manager? Just imagine! We’re an emotional club, an emotional fanbase and we need to be able to connect with our manager. I’ll take Gerrard over some beardy Portuguese fella none of us had heard of up until a couple of months ago. I was always dead set against him being manager even when he was doing well at Rangers, so I accept that this is a big change of direction for me, but these are desperate times and you also have to figure in what date it is today. Boom! Gotcha. On a serious note though, replacing Klopp the manager is something we might be able to do if we get lucky. It’s not inconceivable that we find a coach who really knows his shit and can maybe get the team playing even better. It’s not likely, but it’s definitely plausible. Replacing the Klopp the man on the other hand is impossible. There’s no-one like him, before or since. Shanks is the only one comparable and he was a one off too. Watching that video today of Klopp with Sean Cox just brings it all home. There’s no-one like him, never mind the football side of it, he’s just such a special human being. The way he is with people, it’s all just so genuine, heartfelt and warm. You can’t fake how he is, he’s just a genuinely great man and we can’t replace that. When people talk about how difficult it will be for someone following on from him, they usually mean because of the on pitch success and the results we’ve had, but that’s really not the hardest thing. Of course it’s a challenge and it won’t be easy, but Paisley followed Shankly and outdid him. It can be done. The real difficulty for whoever comes next is being judged against Klopp the man. Also today, Guardiola was being a bellend again because he didn’t like a question he was asked. The question was a legitimate one too. The reporter asked him why he gave Grealish such a public and animated dressing down on the pitch and could it not have waited until they got back to the dressing room. Passive Aggressive Pep (might actually start calling him “Pap” from now on) did that horrible sarcastic tone he does and was saying something along the lines of “it’s because of my ego, I need everyone to be looking at me and talking about me”. Which is funny because that’s EXACTLY what it is. He also had to respond to Keane’s comments at the weekend about Haaland looking like a League Two player (can’t think why Keane would have a grudge against Haaland….). Obviously he went overboard, as he tends to do, but there is an element of truth to what he said. Haaland is the best in the world at what he does, but he’s pretty shit at everything else. It’s kind of like me in a way. I discovered tonight that I’m actually number one in the world at something. No joke this time, I’m deadly serious. You know how on Call of Duty there are little extra games you can play, like Zombies? Well the machines at the driving range have it too. Zombies appear on the screen and it shows you the distance and direction they are located and you then have to hit a golf ball out onto the range to kill them. I played it last year and was there for about 20 minutes until I ran out of balls and had to stop playing. I had the top score, and not just at the range where I was playing, I’m talking worldwide. Every Foresight Sports fitted driving range throughout the world that has this technology linked up and I had the best score (which was double the next best one by the way) but I didn’t think much of it at the time as I assumed it was just because the game was new and not many people had played it yet. Tonight I decided to play again, and guess what? My name was still at the top and nobody had beaten my score. Until tonight that is, when I beat it. So now I’ve got the two best scores in the entire world on ‘Wave’ and I’m also top on ’Survival’ mode too. I reckon I could beat Rory McIlroy at this game. So I might be League Two at everything else, but like Haaland I’m the fucking top dog at the thing I’m good at.

  9. I find it bizarre that we are second in the league, joint on points with the leaders, a point ahead of Man City and people are conceding the league. Really? Disappointed to drop points obviously but I still have us winning the league.

  10. I used to enjoy this one as a match goer in the mid to late 1980’s. Being in the Scoreboard End was an experience and a half. A lot of regrettable behaviour but it was frightening, exhilarating, passionate, and often nasty. We rarely won, although we were the better team. Later on it was one of the least enjoyable places to go. Everything became ‘less’. We sometimes won, although they were the better team. I alway think back to a defeat there on New Years Day in 1989 (could have been 1990). The Fergie Fledglings took it away from us and we lost 3-1. My mates got kicked out and were invited to go “cut up some Scouse” by a bloke with a machete up his sleeve, who’d mistaken them for United fans. They politely declined. Nothing is guaranteed against them, especially not there. We need to be at it, on it, and with it. Right from the off, and until the final whistle. Eight more games. I think we will need to win all of them. Smash ‘em Reds.

  11. Just rustled this up. Not a full breakfast admittedly, and it’s pretty much lunch time so more brunch, but aside from that you can all fuck off. Depsite being a staunch pro beaner, I’ve realised that they have always given me grief, so I keep them for beans on toast only now. What’s in there is perfect. Absolutely perfect, and anyone who says otherwise is either envious or a cunt.

  12. At the start of the season I would be surprised if anyone in this thread would have truly believed that we would be second by goal difference with seven games to go. Or that we would have a kid named Quansah partnering VVD in central defence and another kid playing right back for a vital game at Old Trafford. Please don't let this incident destroy Quansah's career. Remember also that Mo is observing Ramadan, and that, unlike the mid-week game, he wasn't able to break his fast during the game, maybe even unable to take on fluids at half-time. Not sure how it works but it can only have impaired his performance. And we bossed the game. The only thing wrong was that our forwards were firing blanks for most of the game. I can't recall their keeper having to make any worldy saves so it comes back to our own limitations. I hope we do win the league but deep down I know this group are not ready to do it yet. We are being driven by the desire to give Kloppo the send off he deserves. Still, I will keep my fingers crossed because it's football and anything can happen. As someone once said, "It's a funny ol' game".

  13. I said it in the build up, Gakpo would surely have finished one of the 20 shots we had early on if he had started. Nunez would have been perfect to bring on when the match had gone batshit mental in the last 25mins

  14. Did the ref miss that five on one at home to Arsenal? Did the ref cause the mixup between Alisson and Van Dijk away at Arsenal? Did the ref score Luton’s goal for them at Kenilworth Road? Sure we’ve had more than our fair share of shit decisions this season but we could have been miles clear regardless of the PGMOL dickheads. It’s on us.

  16. There some right stupid cunts in the world and it seems the vast majority post on this site, normally when Liverpool have had a less than perfect result. One horrendous pass and a nonentity scoring the sort of goal that he wouldn't even dream about - along with a good dozen of wasted opportunities by our players - and the keyboard m,anagers are offering their dismal minded opinions on how our season lies in ruins. "We've ran out of steam" is the most moronic take today. We've totally dominated games all season and today we dominated, technically and physically, the opposition. If this is us 'running out of steam' then fuck knows how badly prepared the rest of the league must be. Twat of a scoreline today but there is really no need for the whining bullshit and white flag waving.

  17. Anyone who doesn't hate the mancs more than any other team isn't a proper red in my book. City, Everton, Chelsea and all the rest of them pale info comparison. Anyone who ever has to ask why will never understand. From hell's heart I spit at thee. To the last, I will grapple with thee.

  18. Cannot comprehend anyone calling the players bottlers. A draw at Old Trafford isn’t a bad result. Long way to go and arsenal still have to play Tottenham.

  19. I said yesterday that a draw here wasn't a disaster. Bunch of posters laughing at them on here about their midweek result were foolish. Granted we should have beaten these cunts, but on paper this was our toughest remaining game. We need goals now, and plenty of them. Arsenal are under huge pressure not to drop any points now. This is still in our hands. COYMRM

  22. My uncle is on his way out with oesophageal cancer. I’m not particularly close to him but my mum is really upset. He was struggling to keep food down and lost loads of weight and ended up going for the camera down the throat thing, followed by a biopsy when abnormalities were found. He was then diagnosed with oesophageal cancer, with the specialists fearing that it had spread too. That was about two months ago. They were giving him a stent to help him eat and keep stuff down and we’re then going to discuss chemotherapy/treatment options. But, my mum spoke to him today and he told her that the specialist has told him to think hard about his options as he’s been given a survival prognosis of 3 to 6 months without treatment and 6 to 12 months with. It’s a devastatingly savage disease, the way it just consumes people in such a short space of time. My mum said he sounded really down on the phone and she thinks he’ll probably go down the without treatment route. He’s approaching his 80s so has had a decent innings but still sad news.

  23. For me, this isn't a question of if Salah still has it or not. For me it's a question of this injury problem. He is absolutely not the same. He's not running the same, he's not even striking the ball the same. I suspect his hamstring is fucked and he/us are nursing it through till the summer. But since he's return he looks about 50% of the player pre-afcon. Honestly 50% Salah isn't enough. I'd sooner see gakpo or elliot start games and bring salah in if/when we need to roll a dice.

  26. Relieved to not get beat but can’t help but feel downhearted. I just think in the last few games, it’s been noticeable that some players are feeling the extra pressure of being in a title race. Some perspective is definitely need though. If somebody offered us this position in August, we would have definitely taken it , which tells us the players have exceeded our expectations. The reason we are in this title race, is because of the players who played today, so have some fucking respect. When the fuck is Jota back by the way? He would have mopped up those type of chances today. Although I agree with earlier comments that we shouldn’t always need to score 2/3 goals to win a game. My opinion (2 hours after the game) is that we may just fall short. However , Im doing my best to remain calm. We all know it’s a rollercoaster of emotions and that the next couple of weeks could bring a completely different outlook! Up the fucking reds

  28. The really annoying part is that the game was being managed beautifully in the 1st half. We scored on a set piece and then after, putting everyone behind the ball at times and picking our spots on when to break really well. Textbook stuff. That's why it's Quansah's fault, really. Once it's 1-1, you have to chase the game again and Man United have genuinely thrived against us when the game is open, to their credit. They are one of the few teams where we have been outgunned when the game is that way. But if the Quansah mistake doesn't happen, we could have continued keeping them at arms length.

  29. I think it’s a generational divide. There are those of us who remember Houllier, Voronin, El Hadj Douff (not sure about the spelling) etc . Anyone from that generation isn’t calling this team a bunch of bottlers or cunts when they are one point off the lead with 7 games to go.

  32. I love these lads and Klopp, but... Two non performances against this abject shower of shite is frankly unforgivable. To turn up week after week but then sleepwalk through matches against truly bitter rivals, presenting the fans' arses on a plate all lubed up and ready to go, is fucking shit. Klopp often moans about the fans. Do sing, don't sing, do sing this but don't sing that. Well it works both ways. If our fans have to sit through that bile, and times it by 20 if we don't get a win, then at least show us you know what it means, and you understand what's at stake. They've proven in both these games that they don't, sadly.

  40. God I love your reports, nod along on the pods as I agree with 99% of what you say, I take comfort on knowing its not just me..... But Gerrard. One step away from Henderson as player manager... Rangers achievements are no where near what Alonso is doing in Germany. Rangers are always number 2 and if you do their shit tour they are the most successful club in the world apparently. Old Neverkusen, winning that league is like the Leicester title win. I can see Gerrard as an assistant but not manager. He is up there with Rooney and Fat Frank in their arrogance of great players make great managers. Feels like desperation and straw clutching as we all fear the worst, after Klopp there is no one, but there has to be someone. I am bit pissed off with FSG for not appearing to have a plan for this when klopp has been here longer than he initially wanted to be, extended and they knew he would be thinking of going sooner. That was the time to pass to Lijnders get it sorted so it was seamless. Honestly Stevie would be a disaster for me.

My sister in law was part of the documenting team post first Dafur masscare, the Janjaweed one you're probably familiar with. She was in Dafur for about a month speaking to people who managed to suvive and recording testimonies about what they had gone through. Bleak doesn't even begin to do justice to it. It is still happening today on the Dafur/Chad border, but with the army using airstrikes to target the RSF positions as well. Poor folk there are under bombardment, while hiding from militias wanting to kill them for no crime other than accident of birth. Harrowing.

  45. I was reading an article in The Athletic earlier and it was discussing how managers are chosen these days and a repeated thing was how directors of clubs don't want a new manager changing style too much as it costs money with lots of new risky signings that could flop. I reckon they will be aware we have something good here and will look for a manager who fits that profile instead of one that'll stamp a new system on the team and change too much to soon. EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY.
