Meat and Potato pasties and beef pies are nice at Waterfields.

Best pie purveyors on Merseyside are probably Satterthwaites , but they are down to only one bakery now , on Coronation Road in Crosby.

Steak

Pastie

Scouse

Pork

Made a New Year’s resolution to stop being a fat cunt. I’ve been stopping eating when I’m full instead of clearing my plate. Can you imagine?

Just walked around Home Bargains and found Sayers sausage rolls, frozen in 4 packs. Bought two boxes. Fuck sake.

They don’t have Sayers down south. Had to be done. If I find somewhere selling Holland’s meat pies it’s game over.

Forty minutes to my nearest Asda and I’ve checked in there before with no joy. It’s mad, down here they seem to stock all the Holland’s stuff except meat pies, which are comfortably their best ones.

The word meat is doing some heavy lifting here but they are awesome. Many years ago when I lived at home with parents they would be my 'home from the pub' snack of choice, four minutes thirty in the microwave, perfect time to have the pastry soft and in the juice flowing out, bit of HP on top and job's a goodun.

I bought some of them Holland meat and potato pies a couple of months ago and planned to have them warm with brown sauce. The filling has gone to shit, no substance anymore. Its like they've stuck the filling in a blender it was mush

They’ve always been that way. A meat pie is something else.

The meat and potato I remember had far more substance. Maybe I'm mixing them up with another brand

The Tesco down here does meat and potato, but never meat, which are fucking great.

Sometimes they have steak and kidney puddings, usually stock up on those beauties too if I see them.

Love them, as well. I’ve got two in the freezer. They’re a distant second though.

I think it was about 18 months ago, I was up there and my sister bought me six meat pies and cooked ‘em for me and wrapped ‘em in tinfoil just before I left for home. I ate two in the car on the way back and the other four didn’t see 1pm the next day.

Probably for the best that I can’t get hold of any. They’re just something I miss eating, like proper salt and pepper chips.

Iceland stores down south might do them

My Nan's Scouse Pies were a thing of beauty. You can stick your fancy schmancy stuff up Mook's arse against a good Scouse Pie.

So the scouse pie will already be in there when I enter you mean?
