1. Spearing. Fully committed and brave from start to finish. Didn't deserve to concede a pen

 

2. Reina. Some wonderful saves that kept us in it.

 

3. Carragher. Immense before he went off.

 

Hon mentions - The rest of the defence, especially Robinson.

 

The attacking players were awful today, but lets look at the positives.

Spearing - Truly class performance at times he stopped and cleanly tackled Fabregas, RVP, Walcott, Nasri. These are some of the best attacking players in the world. He used the ball brilliantly too and wanted to go and win the game at the end.

Lucas - Really mature game and won the free kick and the pen by doing what he does best, being a nuisance.

Robinson - dead heat between him and Skrtel, the young lad had to come off the bench at the Emirates, that mental strength tips the balance for me.
