It’s hilarious watching them gleefully proclaim that Rodriguez is by himself a far bigger brand than Liverpool FC due to his social media follower numbers.

By that logic, they’ve signed a player so much bigger than their club that the only reasonable conclusion is that he will be running the place. Retiree Ancelotti, the fans, the entire club, no-goals Ferguson, they all answer to James Rodriguez. If he wants to install himself as the player-manager and top scorer of their Today League title winning team from 1987, he can.

The Everton Messi, la.

"But Historic England said it remained unsatisfied and would refer the matter to the Secretary of State ".

Anyone know if said Secretary of State is a Redshite ?

It would be referred to Jenrick as MHCLG oversees planning decisions. While HE are under DCMS it gets referred elsewhere

Bung him Or the Tory party a few quid like Dirty Desmond, you’ll be fine. If you read the planning press.

EH asking for call in is a quite a serious matter and no doubt they must believe the harm is Substantial and basically a destruction of the heritage asset. Either that or the public interest is so wide.

Either way if the SOS does request referral I think they can add 3 months to the decision period minimum. Mostly likely more if he decides he wants to recover it as it will end up at a Public Inquiry.

And the SoS does not have a formal timescale so it’s at his pleasure.

Wishing him the same success as the last world class Colombian that came to the Premier League.

It'll be interesting to know the length of these deals as I assume there's going to be a fair risk attached to each of them.

In addition, if I hear an Everton fan in the pub pronounce James as "Hamez" like they're fucking Guillem Balague I'm going to boot then in the fanny. I worked with a cunt who went to Barcelona with his bird and they did a tour of the Nou Camp. For about a month after he would say "the camp nou" This cunt would force it upon every conversation as well. "I'm doing the great south run next week and haven't trained once" "Thats about 90 laps of the site of the "camp nou" I saw the back of Puyols head". The fucking fat prick.

185m gross, 109m net

he was obviously owed 76m by the club but he’s written that off and just ploughed a load more in and decided he doesn’t want any of it back!

probably inheriting the land the ground is on and will make his money back that way

That land will be cursed, like in Poltergeist.

One line stands out in that BBC link

It also promised to protect the dock walls under the stadium, so if the club ever relocated again the site could be reverse engineered.

If they ever relocate again? it's taken them a fucking lifetime of talking about the one move that's not even happened yet and these lot are making contingency plans for when they up sticks and fuck off again. Another question is, how do you 'reverse engineer' a £500M stadium? In whatever circumstances that may arise that would see Everton no longer occupying it, would knocking it down be really the best option? What else could reverse engineer mean?

Or just maybe 'relocate again' could be a veiled reference to over-reaching themselves and finally going bust.

He's right, though. I never understood how or why British people have always flipped the name of that stadium the wrong way round.

Yes, I thought it was an odd sentence about relocating again! Not. Getting. Built.

The question has to be why?  I've seen his bird and his ex and that goes along to explaining it.
