Personally, no.

obviously I’m not here celebrating animal death, and I do try and reduce my meat intake (especially red meat) compared to where it was a few years ago, but that is not to avoid the death animal.

I want good animal welfare standards and don’t want them to suffer significantly, but the death of the animal doesn’t factor much if at all for me. Might sound callous but it’s the truth.

I’ll trend further towards eating less meat over the next 2-5 years I’m sure of it, but I can’t see a point where I entirely remove it from my diet, and don’t think that would change if the “synthetic alternative” was a genuine option.

I did say to my other half that I could happily move to veggie burgers and sausages at barbecues, and while I haven’t, that’s because of habit and I should make more effort, but chicken will forever be something I eat, I’m sure. Most likely so will pork.

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall writes a great justification for eating ethically, well reared, well cared for, well looked after animals in his Meat book.

I’ll have a look for it.

Beans

Cheese

Butter

Tuna and sweetcorn

Tuna mayo

Cheese and beans

Chilli / bolognese

That shredded chicken in a creamy sauce stuff out of a tin

Marg

If I had to pick only one of them for the rest of my life, it’s butter, followed by cheese and beans (if I had to choose out of the 2 it’s beans)

Fucking marge? Dirty pro-beaning, marge wielding cunt? And to choose beans over cheese is an act of the deranged.

I do like you Belarus, but I worry, I really do.

Hahaha.

I was only padding out the list. Although I don’t mind marge. A decent one like bertolli and I’m happy as Larry. Blue band I used to like for the small period I remember it before it got fucked off or banned?

Beans over cheese on a spud, yes. Beans over cheese in general is a tough one. If it was a case of I could only have one or the other, forever, beans would probably get the nod for being one of your 5 a day and keeping me regular. But if it was a straight up “which is tastier” there would be cheeses above beans, but also cheeses below beans.

Kidney beans can fuck off though. Ruin a good chilli those cunts.

I'd like to know where Sweet Sue was when the Twin Towers went down on 9/11 and if she can account for her whereabouts during the assassination of JFK.

This probably says more about me, but I can’t even think of 10 toppings, including butter, for a baked spud.

To be fair, curry sauce is a better shout than fucking bacon. As delicious as bacon is, it is neither moist or relevant to being considered a baked potato topping

As a kid in the 50s, one of our neighbours was a huge family. Dad was massive, (always between jobs, always pissed, always wore a donkey jacket, I thought he looked like Desperate Dan), tiny wife and about 8 kids. One of the sons was my age and a good mate, had never tasted fresh chicken until he came to ours one day for Sunday roast chicken. Their Christmas dinner was tinned chicken
