Nick Menza was awesome in Megadeth. Also Paul Bostoph currently in Testament is brilliant. For pure blast beats you couldn't beat Ken Owen from Carcass either.

You are spot on mate.

Seen them all play live, and they're all incredible.

At his peak, Menza was INCREDIBLE, he'd spend half the set standing up and playing the fuckers ! Sadly, I heard the usual rock n roll excesses had fucked him up somewhat. Doesn't appear to have the chops anymore.

And John Bonham ? Peerless. An absolute beast. Love the huge, fat sounding tone he gets. When The Levee Breaks...fucking Hell !

However, I reckon the greatest drummer playing right now is this guy...Eric Moore. Moore is just SENSATIONAL. Percussive and powerful and he plays with bags of personality.

Moore has played with gospel bands, loads of funk stuff, and he is currently behind the kit for my favourite band Suicidal Tendencies.

Have a look at this...

There's a load of other Moore stuff on Youtube too, see what you think.

Here's a couple of classics from Paul Simon, with long time Simon collaborator, Steve Gadd in action, as one of four drummers on the first...

The second, with an iconic drum riff throughout, again delivered by Steve Gadd

And finally, the man himself giving a short demo on how the riff is constructed..

That guy from FNM doesn't half twat the snare. Like every time he hits it will be his last.

Ha ha, yes he does, that's why people like him I suppose.

Another awesome drummer is Ventor from german thrashers Kreator. Technically, he is one of the best around.

One of my fave drum songs. This isn't Neil Peart, but a kid doing a great job. There isn't any footage of Neil playing it, so this is the next bit. Very unorthodox musical drumming. Great sci-fi inspired lyrics too.

Maybe not quite along the lines of some of the other suggestions but....

DJ Shadow - Giving Up The Ghost. Love the drum pattern on this track. This song must be listened to all the way through to hear the progression of the drums.

and...

Subtle - Eneby Kurs. Pretty mellow sounding tune to begin with. Stick with it though as all hell breaks loose near the end!

In fact that song doesn't really do justice to what Grohl does on that album, the album as a whole with him drumming is beyond amazing. One of the only albums where I didn't skip songs and listened to the whole thing regularly.

Anyone know where's the best place to sell on drum kits? The obvious one is ebay but I've never used their service so uncertain whether to use it, there must be other places that would buy it.

The set-up is a 5 piece Pearl Export with 19" Stagg Ride, 14" Stagg Hi-Hat and 16" Stagg Crash which are all around 5 years old but very little wear on them. I have no idea how much It'd be worth nowadays so any opinions would be welcome.

French-Canadian Drummer, Emmanuelle Caplette playing along to Ton Desamour by Marilou Bourdon. You will fall in love, and be awestruck at the same time.

She's mine I tells ya!
