  1. I know what you mean, as there are a lot of wannabe's on Twitter, but this guy seems very genuine. We shall just have to wait and see I guess.
  2. Meant to be a very well connected ITK who called the Assaidi and Kolo deals before anyone else. I've followed him for a while on twitter and he does seem very knowledgeable.
  3. Seems as if we have bid for Soldado Peter Phillips ‏@PeterPhillips_ 26m LFC had a bid for Soldado rejected yesterday , we will go in with a bigger bid ......more to follow when I get it. Cheers
  4. I've found some Innis & Gunn today in Waitrose, so will be sampling later
  5. Ever since I've gone quite grey and grown a goatee beard, I've been told I look like Paul Hollywood.
  6. Sterling looks to be a fine talent, and should be pressing for a starting place as others have suggested, but will he get enough chances here this season? A loan out until Xmas time, like Coady has done, might do him the world of good.
  7. I've never seen then in the Waitrose near me, will have to pop in one night this week for a purchase.
  8. Cheers for that. My nearest supermarket is Waitrose, but I'll go and check the nearest other Tesco's or Asda's later this week.
  9. Where are people buying Innis & Gunns from please? I've tried a few supermarkets and can't find it anywhere.
  10. A cracking drink that one, very nice indeed. Had a pint of Sharp's Doom on Sunday, brewed in Cornwall, another lovely pint.
  11. I haven't been able to track that one down yet, but had the Barry Island IPA a few weeks back, a lovely drink.
  12. Here's a quick list for you: Gwynt y Ddraig - Black Dragon Gwynt y Ddraig - Orchard Gold Gwyny y Ddraig - Dabinett Hogans Cider - Picker's Passion Hogans Cider - Panking Pole Gwatkin Cider Nooks Yard Medium Cider Cotswolds - No Brainer Red Bank - Real Cider Cornish Orchards - Gold Cider Seidr O Sir Betws - Medium Cider Thatchers - Cheddar Valley Whatever you do, stay away from the commercial stuff, Strongbow, Kopperberg, Rekordalig, Magners, Bulmers, etc. I'm a bit of a cider geek, and was at the Manchester Cider and Perry Festival a few weeks back, and was speaking to some growers and some sellers, and Westons were being heavily criticised for their cider making process and using concentrate instead of pressed apples, so its not counted as real cider anymore. It depends on your tastebuds though and if you want a fizz to your drink or if you want flat cider. Go and check out the cider festival in your nearest Wetherspoons as they've got some good ones on at the moment. I've only got into drinking real cider for a few years now and some of the above are just superb.
  13. Yes they have a few support bands - Cud and Republica for these few gigs. If you saw them first time round, and fancy a nostalgia trip, then they are well worth seeing. The pit at the gig on Wolves last year was bloody mental. We met people who have travelled from America, Australia, France and Germany just for that gig.
  14. I'm off to the one in Birmingham instead. Saw them last December in Wolves and it was one of the best gigs of last year for me.
  15. This is what its all about, great fun if you ask me. I always have the debate with one of best mates about Iron Maiden, he loves them, I don't, to the point where I fell asleep during one of their concerts once.
  16. Perhaps I should have a listen and watch the docu-film. Don't get me wrong, and like I've said, I've seen the Foo's a few times live, they play a style of rock that is formulaic, as do ACDC, Iron Maiden, etc, and they are successful at what the do. I preferred his Probot album though, as it was different and a step away from his normal music. I'm just listening to "In Utero" now
  17. Just throwing this one out there, but does anyone else think that the only reason that Dave Grohl has had the success with Foo Fighters is that Nirvana fans were clinging on to Kurt's memory? The Foo's music is just so bland and boring, yet Grohl is loved by the media, and frequently referred to as "the nicest man in rock", so does this translate into record sales and sold out concerts for him? I'll happily admit that I saw their first ever live gig in the UK purely for the Nirvana reason, but what do others think?
  18. Ok, first band up for debate.............Slipknot. They gave a fairly dying metal/rock scene a massive kick in the arse when they arrived, their music has changed the scene beyond recognition, inspired many new bands and have proved to have longevity in the market place. I will give In Utero another blast by the way and see if I've missed something.
  19. Here is the crucial point of the discussion, whereas Shelvey was given loads of chances, and didn't really take them, I don't think Coates has been afforded those chances, primarily down to the horror show in the FA Cup, which wasn't just his fault. As others have mentioned, he has made some mistakes, but has everyone forgotten Carra's 2 own goals against the Mancs many years ago, every player makes mistakes. (Not that I'm comparing the two might I add) A loan deal to another Premiership club would be a good deal for him, as only when he's had a long run of games, will we see how good, or bad, he is.
  20. I understand what you are saying, but surely you have to give new signings a chance on the pitch at some stage. Just my opinion, but I think that Coates hasn't been given that opportunity.
  21. Went to see Despicable Me 2 last night and loved it, a definite 8/10 from me
  22. A very plausible outcome. I'm of the opinion that we would be better off keeping him and letting him develop here. People are raving over the greek lad, but Coates, and Kelly, could save us a fortune in the defensive area, and we could spend on other areas of the pitch. He needs to be given a run of games to be assessed properly. I know that the management team see him in training every day, but as we all know, training is so different to competitive matches.
  23. That's your opinion, and I have mine. I remember when In Utero came out and being a massive Nirvana fan at the time, I felt very disappointed by it. As is your opinion that there hasn't been a rock band to touch Nirvana in the last 20 years, a very strange statement indeed and I'm sure we could debate this for hours, days or even weeks. As I said in my post, I wonder how successful Nirvana would be now if Kurt hadn't killed himself. Would they still even be a band?
