Alice in Wonderland 6/10 Visually very good and some funny moments but it's all over the place and is very rushed in places. A lot of the scenes don't flow together very well, there is definitely some questionable editing. I think to do Alice in wonderland properly you need to do a pretty long film in order to introduce the characters properly and build an atmosphere.

The Informant - Wasn't expecting much really, and wasn't disappointed much either i guess. Think they should have just gone for the laughs more instead of trying to get too serious at times. Because when it was funny, it was my kind of deadpan, dry humour that i like, with Matt Damon playing the part really well i thought. But there just wasn't enough of it.

I really expected a bit of a shit pile, but it was pretty fun! The dialogue was fairly snappy, and Travolta was pretty badass. The plot was a bit predictable(by a bit, I mean really), but any film with explosions, gun fights, and an unpredictable/flawed hero can't be all that rubbish.

I'll back you up and I'll admit it, I quite enjoyed it. Terrible story but the action was pretty good. However, getting Travolta to say 'Royale wit' cheese' was just fucking wrong.

 

He was definitely a badass mu'er fugger though. That pole slide thing was slick. I enjoyed it, even if it was just made for Travolta to show off.

Then there's Zodiac, I watched my Blu Ray and I've got to give it 9/10. There's a he'll of a lot to take in and it's a long film but second time around it's a fucking good film. Well worth buyin on BR too as (as recommended) the extras are brilliant and the print is superb - the best print I've seen so far.

 

Oh and if Old Boy is 10 (which it is), the Chaser is deffo a 9. The miix of emotion, thrill and intrigue is the best I've seen for years. It also doesn't play by the rules.

I've watched maybe 30 french films, and the same amount of asian now, I still can't speak japanese or French though, what's that all about ??. In films they always say, "I learn English from watching movies", what movies were they watching ?? 'the definitive guide to learning English' ??, in fact aside from the frecnh I already knew I haven't picked up a single new word, not happy.
