List of players at the World Cup born in a different country to the one they represent

Interesting stuff, 4 teams with no one born outside their country.

England have produced some amount of rights backs. They have Trent, James, Trippier, Walker, Matthew Cash, Lamptey, Baldock from Sheff Utd plays for Greece.

That Qatari list probably wouldn't stand up to much scrutiny.

Uruguay v South Korea should be a good game as it will likely decide who gets out of that group with Portugal.

Don't underestimate the ability of both teams to outwork Portugal, it really does depend on the attitude of the Portuguese.  It's a hotchpotch of a side really, lots of talent but where's the central steel to it?

Yeah it’s a decent group to be fair.

Speaking of which, let's go down World Cup memory lane.

Thinking back he could be a slightly controversial young fella on the odd occasion could our Luis.

If Asamoah Gyan had the spuds to take a decent penalty, nobody would remember that handball.

The far-ish right got over 40 % of the vote at the recent Presidential elections, so I imagine statistically there will be a sprinkling of this sort of sentiment in the squad. It's like when people are surprised that Italian footballers are found to be right-leaning.

I was always surprised Italian footballers were so good at defence considering their history!

Livramento at Southampton too is going to be class, although he could still switch to Portugal or Scotland.

We all dream of a team of right-backs.

He'd be mad not to play for Portugal really. Loads of the RB are still young.

I prefer our Welsh protest song tbh.

It's from before the 1988 Euros.

Republic of Ireland 1 England 0

Netherlands 3 England 1

Russia 3 England 1

Ah, I couldn't recall it. So not a world cup song. At least their football lived up to the song.

It’s an absolute piss take these fake fan things. They must seriously think the rest of the world is thick as fuck. It’s like when you’re on holiday and some twat is trying to sell you a Liverpool shirt sponsored by Coca Cola with a dragon instead of a Liverbird “genuine article new season you buy”
