Gotta love Gnasher's relentless commitment to the cause, like a Japanese soldier still fighting the war.

One of the most Important issues of our time that bill Stronts. Corbyns 100% correct to speak out and vote against it. It needs to be fought.

So, even if Labour voted for this, because of Corbyn's 2019 election performance, they wouldn't have been able to win the vote anyway. It's just a bit of parliamentary fluff and would have created headlines like "Labour back Just Stop Oil disruption".

Whilst I get the point, surely there must come a time where strategy can't be based purely around what the Mail headlines might be ?

Supporting people who want to be able to afford food, we will be called anti working people, so can't do it

Not wanting people to be arrested for maybe holding a sign, people will say we support people super gluing themselves to things, so can't do it

Basically we can't oppose anything or support anything because people who are anti us will say bad things about us. Where is the line in the sand ?

Honestly, all that would be the ideal. But you've literally got 40000 excess deaths a year, people can't heat homes or keep warm nor feed their families. It's been like it for over a decade and we've had politicians and others point all this out and yet, nothing. Nothing changes and people still elect Tories.

If Labour pointed all the ills out what would happen?

Too many of the electorate are so non-plussed or too busy trying to make ends meet, that you'd be greeted with a shrug of the shoulder or "all they do is protest and bankrupt the country". Subservient and indoctrinated as a population. If it was France most of the big cities would be nowt but apocalyptic scapes. Here it's "would be worse with Labour in charge."

It's deflating as fuck but I think there is some method in essentially not giving the Tories anything to unite around (hence why they're tearing themselves apart), Braverman can't go for Starmer's throat so she's going for - erm - Sunak's.

Because the ideology is so spent, on both sides of the pond Conservatives have exclusively become counter-punchers, they can't build anything, only tear down what you try and build.

We're in a uniquely odd position here where, with a year to go and riding high in the polls, the ruling party is completely out of messages and even the media - 99.9% of which is in their pocket - is being deprived of ammo.

2 mentions from the tumescent ginger prick Dowden standing in on PMQs today. With an anti-semitism jibe thrown in for good measure.

The consensus in the political press is that Dowden is their ' best communicator '. If they weren't such malevolent twats you would almost feel sorry for them.

Re S31, I think Braverman has written off their election prospects and is already campaigning for the leaders job, as simple as that.

To be fair, highlighting local antisemitism, the writer of that piece seems to brandish Liverpool as a whole there. Knew you lot were wrong'uns from the minute you started calling iced lollies lolly ices.
