My niece is a Norwich fan. She says:-

As a fan of a team that's facing relegation, it's so heartening to see a team who were more or less in the same position this time last year go on to win the title. When Man City won a few years back they proved that the Premier League title could be bought, Leicester City have just proved that it can still be earned.

But weren't they bought by a multi millionaire Asian businessman/syndicate and pay their manager and players a good whack too?

A different set of billionaire owners have won the league than normal. A bit of a novelty but not much to see here.

Wenger must be beyond depressed. Spends ten years trying to prove his argument you can win the title without needing to splurge endlessly on expensive players, then someone else comes in and does it in his first season.

That someone else was the guy he beat the last time his Arsenal side won the league, against a side that spent shitloads in an attempt to buy the title.

In fairness to Wenger, he's not the only one to have spread that thoroughly discredited theory.

they done it The (70s & 80s) Liverpool Way and bought from lower leagues with a great scouting network.

Instead of spunking 32 million on the Firmino's of this world.........maybe buy 32 x £1m valued players from (so called) lesser leagues, pay them a couple grand a week and maybe keep the 5/6 who are actually good enough?  play the numbers game Jurgy lad!

PL clubs are fucking idiots! if you won £50m on lottery it doesnt mean you have to spend the lot in one or two goes.................fools

congratulations to The Foxes...............a wonderful story !!!!!!!!!!

By accident or design or a bit of both, they've a really good side and now a fair wedge of cash to improve it if they can keep talent like Kante, Drinkwater and Mahrez.

And I'd wager that they'll fare better in the Champions League under Ranieri than we did under Rodgers a couple of seasons ago.

Its really hard to fathom how they ve done it. If you look at them individually simpson was let go by united, went to newcastle and let go and is heading down the premier league finding himself at leicester who very nearly go out of the league and nows hes a premier league winner. Hes like danny higginbotham or some other united reserve who ends up with a decent unspectacular career but somehow all these rag tags have managed to form the perfect team under ranieri. Im delighted for ranieri because he has taken what was there and added the final couple of pieces. Far and away the best team and they deserve it.

still cant believe it. Still sick with envy.

They have done it the same way Palace gad a good season last year.

Play in the counter attack and beat the shite teams. If they had to play possession football they'd be fucked. They have done exceptional well but have also got a bit lucky everyone has had a bad year.

Amazing achievement and fully deserved. It's a kick in the bollocks for the mega rich clubs spunking billions on trying to land a title.

Very good manager.

Strong spine to the team.

Players who fight for each other and give 100% most of the time.

The way the PL has been panning out the last 4/5 seasons the so called smaller/un-fancied clubs have been catching up and it has been on the cards. What used to be odd hiccups happen every weekend to one of the so called favourites.

Everything just clicked for Leicester and only a cold hearted sod/bitter fucker would begrudge them for what they have achieved.

Not only Leicester but also Spurs will be in the CL next season and even West ham have an outside chance of getting fourth if City fuck up and the Hammers beat the red mancs. The league is changing and has been for some time. Hard work and togetherness mixed with a few top quality players is far better than spunking 100 mill+ every summer and hoping names/egos gel on the pitch.

If West ham beat the mancs then I think they have a good chance of top 4. City have to play arsenal and may even be preparing for a CL final. Hammers are 10/1. Gonna throw a tenner on that. In this crazy season anything is possible

Surely their scouts will be in high demand now.

Some real gems have been unearthed by them.

Okazaki is the only one of their more expensive buys (Huth 3.15 is next) that starts. They have 7 that cost more than Huth that very rarely get in at all.

they've won the league because they're the best team. Absolutely.

But all this little plucky Leicester bollocks is wearing thin already. They bought their way out of the championship by some sponsorship deal that would make an oligarch blush, and all of this greatest story ever in sport - oh do fuck off. Win back to back European cups like Forest after being promoted and then come back.

/ rant over

Ranieri: "Do I think Leicester can do this again? No. I don’t think we can but we want to continue to build. Next season we will fight to finish in the top ten, to continue the progression. We want a good campaign in Europe and in the cups, and we want to be sure next season that we are safe, and then to do something more."

Remarkably pragmatic attitude after you've just managed to win the league.
