Joe Allen

Dembele blows hot and cold. He always seems to play well against us for some reason. He's physically powerful and has good balance for a big guy and has good ball control. But he's also a bit brainless and lazy. Could have been a world beater, he showed a lot of potential at Fulham but hasn't developed at all since. Not sure of the Allen comparison, totally different players.

He has never progressed, he never became a welsh xavi. I really wanted to like him, he needs to be more angry. If I was his coach I would slap him once in a while and tell him he is a fucking beast to get him a bit angry, aggressive and passionate. Some kick boxing would be beneficial for him. He needs to get knocked out a few times to reflect back in life and get some passion about the Liverbird.

He's just not quite there is he? He has the odd game where he looks brilliant but thats 1in 10 I'm afraid and that don't cut the mustard, also goes missing when the going gets tough, good squad player but for 15m you would have expected a bit more. He's still worth around 10m and would be good in a mid table team. He's Joe of all trades and master of none, carries close to zero goal threat and has a limited short range of passing, neat and tidy not much else, he also a bit slow and weak apart from that he's proper bo i tell thee.

He just is. Nothing Joe Allen does really impacts on the actual result of the game. A lot of the times he is mentioned in the MoM voting threads is when we have drawn or lost in a shitty performance, and it pretty much comes down to, "Well, all the players that actually matter were crap, but good old 6/10 Joe Allen still tried, so fuck it, have a MoM vote."

Joe Allen is not going to win a game or lose a game for you. He will just be there, delivering 6/10 performances until the sun blinks out. In a team chock full of consistent, talented individuals, that might be okay, but for us, it really is just a waste of a spot.

But then again, Jermaine_Pennant thinks he should be allowed to play a more attacking role while simultaneously being our best defensive midfielder, so what do I know?

The Allen that plays for Wales looks like a completely different player. Whenever he seems to get going for us, an injury nearly always follows. He's played his part in some of our best perfomances under Rodgers though.

Rodgers calling him the Welsh Xavi didn't do him any favours. Although again, the Allen that played for Swansea did look a very good player.
