  4. My missus is slipping again with her mental health (just in time for the summer hols. Whoop-de-doo) right on the edge of a nervous breakdown. For once she’s seen it herself early and taken it upon herself to try and speak to a doctor before it gets worse. So she’s waited all day for a call back, only for this same GP to be the lucky sumbitch. Mrs Turdseye then poured her heart out about feeling worthless and unable get out of bed, let alone care for her partner and kids. “Have you considered voluntary work?” Ah. Fuck did you have to go and say that for? I swear next time I speak to that doctor I’m going to ask “Have you considered the DWP?”

  9. I’ve loved this topic since doing it in school when I was about 14. When I coached in Texas 9 years ago, I was determined to go to the museum, which I did. Genuinely, one of my life goals to visit it, but it wasn’t half disappointing. This is the room, this is the shot and some billboards saying there was no conspiracy. Anyways, for those who are interested, here are the photos from the day. I’ve disguised myself to keep my anonymity from the forum - god forbid somebody from the forum try’s to attack me at a game for being a pro-FSGer or even worse, try’s to talk to me.

  10. This does not come under the description of 'fascinating', but when I captured it, it felt like I'd 'got something'. This is looking down Wood St, opposite the Bombed Out Church. As I turned around, I saw this couple having their moment of passion. Well, she is, but I thought the least he could've done was taken his hands out of his pockets. Out of frame to the right, there's a car on Berry St, waiting to turn down Wood St, and the driver blasting the horn at them to move, but they don't give a fuck, as they're having their 'moment'. This all happened in an instant, and by the time I'd repositioned the camera to include the car, the scene was gone. It just wouldn't have made the same pic, had they been on the footpath; I wouldn't have cast them a second look, to be honest. But in the middle of the street blocking traffic...?

  13. I fucking hate needles. I've had my two & get my flu one every winter, I just tell the nurse when I go in that I hate needles & will need to look away. I do have other phobias that are a hundred times worse & I can't deal with them so wouldn't take the piss out of someone for being scared of needles.

  15. My dad was a GP. You are one hundred percent correct about this. Yes, they are well paid and have more holiday than most but all the ones I knew when I was growing up, more than earned it. The more they give a shit, the harder it is. Imagine working seriously long hours, often having to deal with ‘difficult, demanding, people’ then being pestered in the pub, restaurant, supermarket, street even by people who expect on the spot consultations. My dad would never say no either, he was too soft. Fucked him up though. We’d even have people phoning the house 24/7 to speak to him direct, instead of making an appointment at the surgery. Again my dad was too soft to make his home number ex directory. My mum was tougher than him though, so dealt with that mostly. If he answered the phone, it wasn’t uncommon for him to spend twenty minutes on a call with a cheeky fucker, sometimes even going out to visit them. He was far from perfect, flawed in many ways, but he was a good doctor and basically a good man. His life ended at seventy one, in part due to acknowledged mistakes made by stressed, overworked, burned out NHS employees. Just some good for thought. Of course you should be assertive (not aggressive) and sometimes you do have to ask, but remember, most of them are genuinely trying their best in challenging circumstances. Don’t be too critical until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.

  16. We had a lad in school, a horrible little shite who was known for picking on smaller kids. Anyway, it was six in one (bcg) time and everyone was lining up outside this room to go and get their jab. When it was your turn, you went in the room and you got your jab behind one of those screens on wheels, then you came out from behind the screen and the next kid took your place. When it was this lads turn, he went behind the screen, then there was a loud crash followed by 'no, no, NOOOO' and he tried to make his escape, only to be dragged back behind the screen. Next thing, he dropped to the floor with only his head and shoulders behind the screen. We're all pissing ourselves, but next thing they started dragging him back so he was sliding along the floor until his whole body was behind the screen which made us laugh even more. A few seconds later, they dragged him further so his feet disappeared behind the screen, it was the way it happened in stages, funny as fuck. He'd fainted, they have him his jab then gave him smelling salts. Needless to say he got leathered until he left school.

  18. Just had a look at a couple of her bits and then the first bit of his. She is saying some extreme shit and very unfounded it seems about vaccines in general, but that must be hard speaking out about your own mum like that. And even if she is wrong and everything she says is bollocks, does that mean she’s mentally ill? Aside from that, I saw the American clip of him being interviewed and it said at the bottom “1 in 5 in England believe coronavirus is a hoax”. That’s got to be bollocks, surely? I’ve not met or spoken to one person who thinks or believes that, and my 1 year old has got some seriously strong and extreme views, let me tell you

  24. The easiest way to get all these nutters to take the vaccine is to tell them they can’t have it, that they’ve been put on a list and the government and the Jews and lizards have decided they shouldn’t have it. 2 days - all done.

  25. Quite possibly. I’d never dismiss those who have the certificates to support those with problems in this area, but I think there’s a lot to be said for having personal experience of something that’s at least ‘in the ball park’. They seem to see you and you see them. A very powerful thing. I’m glad you got the help you needed, when you needed it, so many don’t. Your GP was a hero in my eyes and I’m sorry to read that he felt he had to take his own life in the end. Stay well.

  30. I had the same GP from the age of about 5 or 6 years old until I moved down South when I was about 25 or so. He retired while I was away and I hadn't been to the local GP's until about 4 years ago (I'm 41 now), I always knew my old GP was really good, but dealing with the new lot by comparison really pushed just how lucky we had been to have the old one. Before I finished school I had some really severe knee injuries through playing rugby and when they got my x-rays back when I finally started getting them looked at he was totally straight, something like "your left knee is just wear and tear and will repair, your right is fucked" and I used to have really bad issues swallowing tablets when I was younger and he'd always give me "do you want grown up tablets or do you still want baby medicine" and would kid with me about it. He was fucking brilliant and when I had my first ever full blown depressive episode in my early twenties fought like hell to help me and protect me as much as he could. Work were giving me shit about how I had to go back and that my sicknote wasn't valid and all sorts of stuff and he was always steadfast "you're not OK to go back until I say you are I don't care what they say". This was while at the same time the council occupational health guy reckoned me being suicidal was nothing and that I just needed to get back to work. He so clearly actually gave a shit and went out of his way to help people as much as he could. He retired while I was living down South, but I was told that a few years after he retired he killed himself which really bothered me as I really thought that probably a lot of his efforts with me when I had that first big depressive episode were because he knew exactly what I was going through.

  33. Anfield was already built before they moved into it as they played on a field off Stanley Park. They moved into it when it was basically just a field with a few shelters dotted around it. They didn't buy it and were eventually kicked out because they refused to pay rent. But they defo owned Anfield and defo built a stadium similar to the one that stands there now before going off and building another one. Imagine Evertonians in real life arguing with their landlords saying they owned the flat or house that they rent and then go round telling everyone that they built it after they got evicted.

  34. Got loads of bites from my comment about Collina on Facebook. All the blues are adamant that he was paid off to stop everton getting into the CL. The reason for this is because UEFA didn't want 5 English teams in the CL. This of course is all gospel despite Collina never taking any bribes and there being no logical reason why UEFA didn't want 5 English teams in it. After all isn't the CL all about keeping the teams from the big leagues in it at all costs?. I'm sure 5 English teams would get better viewing figures than if Skonto Riga or Hjk Helsinki qualified. Also they still can't work out the aggregate score as a 2-2 draw in Villareal would have seen them dumped out because they lost the first leg 2-1. They really are thick as fuck.

  39. The Somali Club, Upper Parliament Street. This, and the Ibo, the Gladray and Yoruba clubs, were the places you could have a fantastic night (and Sunday afternoon). Strong lagers, exotic dancers, fantastic African (before Peter Gabriel got his mitts on it) and Reggae music, and occasionally, the most fantastic food served out of a massive pot. Oh, and massive pot. I'm ancient, but I was going to these places in my teens. Sad to see them gone.

  44. Kier Starmer has set his stall out, it's overtly to make sure Corbyn and the infrastructure that could lead to another Corbyn cannot happen again in the Labour party I think that's borne out by polling information, as well. People don't know what Starmer thinks about things, but they do know he opposes the former labour leader and any of wildly popular policies. So, it's not really relevant if these groups are extremists. Maybe they are. Maybe they're not. Who cares? What is relevant is getting rid of the grassroots movements who could potentially poison the party and embolden leftists. If that means losing hundreds of thousands of party members, expelling the most popular member or even bankrupting the party, then so be it. This is something that actually matters.
