That totally depends on whether they have a Graeme Smith to give it to.

Hussey knows the game and could give them a couple of years to bring through some rookies.

Well there is that i suppose. There must be some decent young talent out there somewhere, considering how cricket mad the Aussies are, and how much money they invest in the game at youth level - there has to be.

And i was way wrong about Hussey, turns out he's only 5 months younger than Ponting. No way the captaincy is going his way.

Bet none if us thought we'd be hearing that about Aussie cricket eh. Seems like they have a lot of ordinary players in their current squad and if they are keeping out what's behind them then it doesn't bode well for them.

With our final game tonight and the India vs. South Africa series coming to an end I thought it would be a good idea to put together your Best XI Test side for this year just gone. Mine would be as followed:

Sehwag

Sangakkara (as pure batsman)

Trott

Tendulkar

Kallis

Hussey

Prior (WK)

Swann

Steyn

Khan

Anderson

What I did notice when trying to pick that team was the lack of brilliant express pace bowlers - there's many good swing bowlers but I'd say Steyn is the only one who would put it above 90 mph.

Anyway back to the Ashes, if we are to win the series 2-1 or 3-1 where does that put us in the rankings?

Not much happening so far, Tremlett the only bowler who's looked dangerous.

This is my final night watching, off on holiday tomorrow and the bird has made me promise I 'won't ruin the holiday' so this is it.

Pidge, the bitch, chimp and everyone else that's beem here from the start, have a good one!

EDIT: if we aren't going to lose this test I'll try and get on here Thursday night, what a birthday present that will be.

Nice to get Hughes on the stroke of lunch. If the batsmen had took their time in Bresnans last over then there wouldn't be enough time to allow Tremlett to have an over. 55/1 at lunch.

Have a good birthday mate.

I set myself up away from the TV this evening in a vain attempt to get some work done... no luck. How's it going? What time did play start?
