Hick's has just been interviewed on CNBC.

When asked how the sale of 25% of LFC was going he just dodged the queston and talked about the Standard sponsorship deal.

He did say he thought the Rangers would be sold within the year.

Then he was asked what he had planned after he moved on from those two and he said " he wasn't necessarily moving on"

Hardly worth looking for but I imagine the interview will be on the CNBC website at some point.

He's only selling 49% of the rangers I think. Ali will know for sure.

He's been trying to keep a portion of it, but that depends on his situation and the MLB seem to be in the driving seat. Certainly the American press are not adverse to stating consistently his serious financial problems. If a suitable offer is made and the MLB are running events they may well be in a position to make him sell 100%, as some of these articles suggest.

Lenders to Denver-based Resolute Energy Corp. amended its credit agreement to allow Hicks Acquisition Co. to consummate its $582 million purchase of the energy company.

Wachovia Bank NA, Wells Fargo & Co., BMO Capital Markets Financing Inc., Deutsche Bank AG and Fortis Capital Corp. mandated that Hicks and Resolute pledge all their assets to guarantee the loans in exchange for the waiver, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The problem comes down to clubs who can and will outspend us:

1) The Filth

2) Chelsea (If ban is overturned)

3) Manchester City!!!

4) Tottenham

5) Aston Villa

6) Arsenal? Possibly?

7) Sunderland

That's not good at all. We could very easily find ourselves outside of Europe all together. We cannot stagnate and, with this 'capped and planned' spending, we will. (unless those youth players develop like we hope) £20m is one purchase a year of quality.

We know one of us will lose out on the Champions League to City. It's guarenteed that in the next two years they will have the squad capable of delivering the CL berth and possibly a league title.

If it's us that lose out? We are in SERIOUS trouble. If it's Arsenal? They've got a few billionaire major shareholders who won't scruple to drop money into the transfer kitty.

Should we hold hands and cry together now?

Group hug?
