1. Kuyt -- the reasons (two of them) are obvious

2. Alonso -- in charge of the tempo dial. He was also the key reason we sealed off Wigan's pacey attackers with only 2 defenders.

3. Agger -- partially at fault for both goals against. But you can count on one hand the number of defenders in the world that can do what he did for our equalizer.

Pennant streched their defence. Beat their fullback plenty of times and put in a number of good crosses. In other words, he did his job well. To top it off he got an assist for the match winning goal.

 

But you're not looking for an explantion are you?

I see there has been there have been plenty of votes for Xabi. As ever, he kept the ball well & retained possession but, IMO, he needs to be more penatitrive when he has it. He doesn't hurt the opposition enough.
