Liverpool on Quaresma alert

Chelsea are lacking heart, togetherness and motivation. And what do they do?

They loan the biggest bottler in European football. Ace.

Or they're lacking width, and are getting a young winger who the manager knows well to provide that for nothing. A minimal gamble.

we are desperately in need of some pace and skill on that 'right wing'

to not even entertain Quaresma on a free is ludicrous imo!

who do we blame for not acting swiftly here Rafa or Parry?

hard to tell as Rafa reportedly wanted Lennon as part of the Keane deal - but nothing came of it

Quaresma clearly isn't a Rafa type player though - but he'd be a mssive hit with the fans imo

He's not on a free though, he's on loan. He's also a total cock who might ruin our run in with his cockery.

Makelle.

Ranieri signed Makelele.

Always had a lot of time for Quaresma, since players of his talent don't come around very often. His problem, however, is that he does not possess the strength of character to complement his talent. He failed in Barcelona, and he failed in Italy.

Keep in mind that just because its a loan deal does not mean that he didn't cost Chelsea anything - they probably still paid a nice fee to take him on loan.

This coming from a Quaresma lover? All I ever hear from you is 'Phwoar, come on Q man' or 'Get in there Q man'. You're only lying to yourself Philip.

Only hundred words? I'd have to chop in some sentences. It'd go something like:

Rafa, it's plain to see that not only small clubs like Quaresma, especially after he has now taken on the PL. It has made Quaresma tall and stronger (which is rare for a winger), from a small child or lady to a power man in the air with a hard cross and quick feet of steel that helps him turn around with rythm. He's got a bag of tricks and he could pull them quickly; two footed packs a mean freekick.. Other attributes are his teqhnique, his extreme speed and his flair + reliable finsihing. All missing in our current team.

Sorry Ricardo - that's 101 words. You know what Rafa's like about the small details. He'd feel he couldn't trust a player who isn't disciplined enough to run a word count (or worse - a player who thought Rafa wouldn't notice the extra word).

For that reason he's out.

No, that IS 100 words.

Which means he's IN.

Perhaps you're counting the "+"?

Signed for Genoa now. Bit shit really.

Ricardo Quaresma ends loan spell at Chelsea by signing for Genoa | Football | guardian.co.uk

Internazionale's Ricardo Quaresma is set for a summer move to Genoa followinghis loan spell at Chelsea. The 25-year-old joined Inter from Porto after Euro 2008 but struggled and was loaned to Stamford Bridge in the winter transfer window but failed to make an impact.

The Genoa president, Enrico Preziosi, has confirmed the Portugal winger will be a Grifoni player next term. "There is an agreement with Quaresma and we will get him in joint ownership [with Inter] for €10m (£8.8m)."

Quaresma will play alongside the former Chelsea striker Hernán Crespo in Genoa next season. "We should conclude Crespo's signing by tomorrow night," said Preziosi.

Crespo, whose contract with Inter ends this summer, has scored two goals in 13 league appearances for the Italian champions. The arrival of the two players will be a blessing for Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini with the club announcing last week the departure of the pivotal duo Diego Milito and Thiago Motta to Inter at the end of the season. "What does Gasperini think about this? When I told him he hugged me," said Preziosi
