The beeb yet again fucking up why wasn't this game on TV, the last few times they have played each other it's been 5 sets and yet they'd rather spend the money on rich mans sport Motor racing rather than the working class Tennis....still should have been on mind.

If tennis was really a working class sport, GB would be a lot better at it.

Yeah, I know. A bitch of an era for Murray. But at least he'll know he earned the ones he does win.

I think the real nightmare for him is that he often has had to play two of the top players. Not only has he has to win the final against a Rafa, Federer or Djokovic, but he has had to have beaten on of those players in the last round or two. He beat Nadal to get to his first in the US, Nadal again in the QF to get to his second in the Aussie, Ferrer for his third who absolutely twatted Nadal previous to that match, Federer in 2013 Aussie semi. I'd say the two he won, and the first Wimbledon final he didn't, were the only ones where he hasn't already faced top level opponents in the semis or quarters. I hope that bodes well for this final.

My point, of course, is that having to beat two best-ever players is a hell of an ask. No wonder he has 'only' two from seven finals and a gold. Amazing achievement that deserves huge respect, especially considering the amount of flak he got about just being another Henman who'd never be good enough to actually win.
