Israel - A Rant

Or better yet no bombing from anyone.

Therein lies the problem; Extremists on both sides will ensure this continues and killing each other just fuels the support. One side wants to remove Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and West Bank and Jerusalem. The other side wants to remove Israeli's from the map.

I'm pessimistic - I don't see there ever being a compromise that satisfies both camps, not even a two-state solution. Ultimately I fear one side will use nukes to remove the other.

The only viable solution is one state with equal rights to all.

It's the answer you deserved.

What will the name of the single state be? It is certainly an option.

This is a chance for you to not be wrong - there is no right answer.

Except of course it can't be either Israel or Palestine.

What difference does the name make? They can put forward a few suggestions and take a vote.

Maybe change the historic name from Palestine to Palestein to give it a more Jewish spelling?

Or change the name of Israel to Isratine?

They will find a good name. You don’t have to worry about that.

Agreed. There have long been a few versions of this, which are you suggesting? A true single state with unified governing?

But that's my point; Extremists on both sides don't want that to happen.

Yes. One man one vote.

Just imagine the touristic potential of that state. Anyone who wants to visit any God could go there and spend big money. Big money to be made.

They can name it Holyland. It would easily trump anything Holywood ever offered.

I'm in. Keep the name Arabic - looks/sounds mysterious.

Two founding nations, two languages, two religions, two civil legal systems, etc.

Two referenda on separation as well of course.

But still together.

(My point being only that it is possible.)

Where there’s a will there’s a way. It’s not like it has never been done before. Just look at the USA!

And by the way Muslims, Christians and Jews lived peacefully together on that land before the Zionist project. They can easily live peacefully again once they all accept the principle of one state with equal rights.
