January Transfer Window 2015

Echo reporting that we're interested in Ings, in January, but loaned back to Burnley until the summer.

I think he'd be a decent signing, but don't see the point in an instant loan back.

He can move for a minimal fee in six months and there will be a fair bit of interest. City have been linked to bolster their home grown quota, especially if Milner leaves. Then there's Spurs and Southampton and a tenuous link to Chelsea.

We're just attempting to tie it up before his contract runs out.

He's a good enough squad player, he'd offer more than our current crop barring Sturridge, but we'd also have Origi next season and I don't think either are good enough (yet) if Sturridge is out for a long period.

I don't want to see any more of these good squad player signings.  If they're not good enough to start/rely on for a lengthy amount of time, then they're dead wood in the making and not worth signing.

Someone at the club needs to grasp that very simple concept sometime, and only then will it stop shooting itself in the foot and wasting millions.

So we've been crying out for a forward all window and when one is mooted, we'll be loaning him back?

Classic Liverpool.

When players like Danny Ings become available, you have to make the deal happen any way you can. Generation defining players don't come on to the market that often.

I'd have him over borini or Lambert. He's not as bad as made out so fuck it I'm in. And reserve the right to call him a cunt etc.

That's how we ended up with Lambert. "He's better than Aspas, etc...".

Stop buying mediocre players that won't improve the first XI.

You're right of course. Somehow I can't see us doing that. We 'tried' in the summer with Sanchez, failed and got Balotelli. Just can't trust the men in charge to make the right decision. And Ings is better than Balotelli. I'd rather 3 x5million 'punts' than 1 x 16 million waste of space.

I like Ings, i think he's a better player than some people are giving him credit for. He was the championship player of the year last season and has hit 7 in 19 appearances in the premier league, not a bad return playing for a club at the foot of the table. He also comes across as a good lad, he has set up his own charitable foundation to help kids with disabilities.
