Football's Greatest - Ronaldo

Before his knees got shot, he could do anything. He should have stayed at Barca instead of going to play on those horible Italian pitches.

Frank Arnesen build his reputation on finding Romario and Ronaldo. he haven't reproduced that scouting ability since.

I still maintain that if you're comparing players at their peak to one another (in other words, not factoring in length and consistency of career performance), Ronaldo is the best to ever play the game.

Messi and Maradona are certainly in with a shout but Ronaldo at his very best in his time with PSV and Barca and the first year at Inter was absolutely unstoppable.  Never seen a player with the combination of pace, power and balance before or since.  It's a shame injuries took so much away from him, and it's a testament to how good he was that even playing on half a knee for most of his career he managed to string together 4 more seasons with 23 goals or more after the 2nd major knee injury.

I'd have Henry at his pomp up there with Ronaldo though.

Cristiano is better.

He'd never have scored a goal like that one against Compostella. As soon as the guy pulled his jersey, he'd have been rolling around like a fanny.

That's why he'll never be as good as Ronaldo or Messi in my book. Christiano just seems to lash the ball to score, and get ridiculous movement. Ronaldo and Messi can seem to caress the ball to beat a player/score a goal.

When I think of a Ronaldo goal, I think of taking it around a goalkeeper one-on-one or toepoking it past him.

When I think of a Messi goal, I think of a little dink or lifting it over the 'keeper.

When I think of a Christiano goal, I think of a shot from 25 yards that swerves and deceives the 'keeper.
