Planet Earth III - 10/10.

Watched the first episode on coasts. The standout being seals forming gangs with flick knives to chase away Great Whites. Ok, maybe a slight exaggeration.

Attenborough remains one of the finest humans on the planet. The making of portion of the show, about Rain Island, is a must watch for any moron still doubting the effects of climate change. It showcases the worst and the best of humanity inside of 5-10 minutes.

Did anybody watch the Long Lost Family rip off on BBC 2 tonight, with Stacey Dooley? Any good?

@Tony Moanero

Hmm…not the best.

The premise is decent but they seemed to follow too many situations but with the same strategy, to go to speak to a woman at the University of Leicester who took a DNA sample, with pretty unsatisfactory outcomes.

It was interesting to hear about the very different levels of interest and access to DNA services in different countries around the world.

Would I watch again? If there wasn’t anything else on, possibly

Antiques Roadshow: BBC 2, last night. 2/10 - Purely because it was a repeat of an episode from last year. If they must show repeats, why can’t it be older stuff?

That was annoying too

The detectives is back on BBC 2 tonight. I got shelved last year as the case went to court. Definitely worth a watch.

Binged this on iPlayer. All 3 parts.

This one was about an Organised Crime Group in Rochdale. Echoes of the Rochdale child grooming scandal but the Pakistani men in this case were grooming children to sell drugs for them. And it focuses on a connected attempted murder case too.

A brilliant documentary. With lots of twists and turns. The very final one just before the credits being quite a sad one.

Indeed. We don’t know if the criminal incident and the trial and threats were a factor in what happened. But, it seemed that his life changed a lot from that point onwards.

People knock the police, rightly so sometimes. But the bizzies in this seemed compassionate and carried out some dedicated, shit hot police work to get the cases to where they ended up. Disappointing sentence for the head honcho though. Probably shows how well he insulated himself from all the grittier, more serious stuff.

(I’m trying to not say too much in case it spoils it for anyone who hasn’t watched it yet.)

The detectives

Part 3

### spoilers ####

Love stuff like this, find it fascinating.

Minor criticism was that it seemed to focus at the end of the investigation.

Thought they could have got another episode out of it.

How did that woman busy get off with that?

Sad about that lad

The Detectives is definitely the best true crime series ever, hope they make more. It's utterly brilliant.

It's boss

It must take ages to film

Though I still don't know they nicked the ones who got the heavy sentences?

Just on the phone records?
