Was reading the other day they want to do a Saul spin off. I think that could be brilliant if they make it a full on comedy.

Don't get me wrong, I like Saul but to keep it in context of the show, I just don't see how he trumps Gus, Walter, Mike, Jesse or Hank for best character, he just wasn't in it enough.

I know I'll be in a minority (especially in this thread) but I think Breaking Bad is the most overrated TV series ever (NB - I'm not saying it's shit, because it's not) and the characters (as well as pacing) are one of the the main reasons: I just don't like any of them; not even in an anti-hero way.

I loved it, but see where you are coming from as it's often mentioned in the same breath as Sopranos & The Wire. Not even remotely close.

 

There were some great characters though: Jesse, Hank, Mike, Gus and of course Walter.

 

There were some shit, pointless and unbelievable characters as well: Skylar, Walter jr, Marie, Jesse's girlfriend at the end (forgot her name), Saul, Todd's Uncle, Badger and some more.

 

I'd put it on a par with 24.

It was brilliant.But it annoys me mongs who haven't watched the sopranos or the wire proclaiming it the greatest tv ever based on watching coronation street and my family

I think it's highs beat Sopranos, bit overall I'd say I marginally like the Sopranos more. The Wire is very overrated, in my view.
