How recent are you talking? since 2010? Or the last 12 months?

For me,

Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds

The Black Keys

Arctic Monkeys

In that order for the past 12/18 months.

A new band called the Temples are excellent too. If you like psychedelic music.

Yes, 100%. Took them from a supporting band to a headline band for me that album did. Very good live act.

Not really the tunes that did it, it was the marketing budget that someone decided to throw at them that did that. Someone at a record company decided, for some reason, this was the album to make them famous. Could have been done an a few of the previous ones. Odd world; music.

Fair comment but I think it is their best album

Both of Miles Kane's albums

Wake up the nation and sonik kicks by Weller

Johnny Marr's solo album is a good listen

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds

Arctic Monkeys last two albums I count as recent and highly recommend them.

These are off the top of my head. I've enjoyed the Vaccines stuff too. It's probably quite obvious where my taste in music lies.
