My soon-to-be-stepdaughter has it. I called 999 a couple of nights ago as she could not breathe, couldn't stand or even sit up. 2 hours later, no ambulance, her breathing normalised, so I cancelled the ambulance. Following day, she was again struggling to breathe, so got a phone appointment with her GP who immediately phoned for paramedics. I carried her downstairs to the porch (the paramedics won't come into the house) where they confirmed she has coronavirus; she was examined for blood/oxygen levels as well as all the usual stuff. She's slightly asthmatic, so she's been prescribed steroids to minimise pneumonia symptoms as well as all the other stuff. Her mum and I both feeling fine, but I'm in the at risk group as I'm over 120 with mild asthma. If I'm going to get it, I've already got it.13 points

So difficult to know what to do. I really need a course of intravenous antibiotics soon, ideally now, though I can drag it out a while before it’s anything critical. Who would volunteer to go anywhere near a hospital for treatment right now though, if it wasn’t an emergency admission? Tough needle to thread for everyone. Good luck mate and if you don’t feel confident in that person’s advice or feel you’re getting worse, phone them back. You have just as much right to healthcare and support as anyone else. Don’t suffer unnecessarily.4 points

It's a tough one mate. The chest pain appears to be a very common symptom, if things don't improve in the next few days I'll phone back, even quicker if it gets worse. As for you, stay well away.3 points

So what would be the point in scrapping this season? Do we scrap next season after 12 games?Maybe the season after we could scrap it after two games. None of this shit makes any sense. Wait until it is safe to continue playing, then finish the season. Whenever that is. It makes zero sense to abandon a season you're three quarters of the way through in an attempt to start a new one.3 points

Just stepped into the back garden for some air and there is some real John Carpenter’s Prince Of Darkness style shit going on in the night sky. A crescent moon hanging directly beneath a very bright star in a NW direction. Had to check out front that there weren’t a group of homeless people with very bad complexions, stood in a group in the road, gazing up at it.2 points

Why is he an idiot? He's 100 per cent correct. I suggest the country play a different game, instead of applauding the nhs workers at 8pm the country votes in a government that actually supports NH service workers.2 points

I just think it's a bit of a shity thing to say about people who didn't think the applause thing was worth it and have the nerve to say so. As I said last night, in the grand scheme of things, it'll make no difference what so ever. They need proper staffing and equipment. As I also said, they should all be given a weeks paid holiday or if they prefer, a weeks wages and if we have to pay for it through a period of raised tax or NI so be it.2 points

One of my favourite horror films. Not quite up there with The Thing in Carpenters oeuvre, but pretty damn close. Love that the soundtrack is pretty much just a two note synth bass pulse that runs pretty much throughout the film, to amazingly creepy effect.2 points

Might be me being cynical but like alot of social media stuff seems more intended for those doing it than those it's for. How about throw a pound a week into a fund for them. As said, hot meals and just staying indoors would do far more good for them. I'm still having to work even with a stay home for 3vmonths letter as nobody from my HR has bothered to get back in touch and confirm about pay, though I fully expect them to say if you want to stay off do but we are not paying you. The roads where still fairly busy, the local DIY/Home and Garden store car park was nearly full. Fuck clapping stay inside and stop spreading this shit around instead. Same with all the people moaning about Ashley and that cunt that owns weatherspoons. A large number out clapping, will probably be standing in a weatherspoons pub garden moaning about A&E waiting times within a month of this ending. Nice gesture but do something that'll make a difference in the long run.2 points

They have been saying it for weeks. Years in-fact. The government are fucking liars and cunts. They want the NHS to crumble because ultimately they want as much propaganda for them selling it up. The recognition last night wasn't anything to do with the government. of course people don't fucking take notice of that and just want to be contrary.2 points

Yet plenty of nurses and doctors saying the opposite. Thanks but if your going to vote tory at the next election or did at the last what's the point. Instead of clapping out pressure on the government to change it stance, don't vote for them. And when you are in hospital stop acting like pricks. Even my sisters saying its great people showing support but when this is over it'll be straight back to people abusing them and giving them shit and whinging about the NHS2 points

Nobody seems to know what comedy is. Repeating the same comic scenes over and over has beaten a brilliantly, acted, scripted and emotionally intelligent comedy that will probably never be bettered again. Bloody idiot kids and their rap music and ghetto blasters.2 points

I’ve a 2 and a 1 year old and they are bored senseless, no matter what we try. Their sleep patterns are all over the place. Sat with the 2 year old from 2am until 6am a few nights back as he was wide awake and wanted to watch “wheels on the bus” on YouTube. 4 hours of wheels on the bus in fact..... Fucking virus...2 points

There's been stuff in this very thread from a forum member who's family member was deemed to have pneumonia and they never tested them. There's been people all over twitter saying exactly the same. If you can't be bothered looking or you choose to ignore what's in front of you, I can't help you.2 points

Not as bad here in Winnipeg, only 34 cases and 1 in hospital. State of emergency and people generally are behaving. Restaurants and pubs closed, the microbreweries are delivering. Still a run on bog roll though apparently. Anyway, I hope the Mohawks side with us again (we did screw them out of Brantford though) as they can defend Cornwall. You can head down to Ivy Lea and Prescott and hold off the upstate New Yorkers. Once we repel them we'll raid their villages and bring back crates of Genessee Cream Ale and funnel cakes. I'll get the Mennonite's on side here- if those fuckers can build and raise barn in days imagine what they could with three day old Timbits and slingshots. Plus they make excellent sausage. This will be quick, we'll be home in time for puck drop on the 2020-21 NHL season.2 points

Hadn't heard about this clapping thing so I googled "clap NHS" and the 4th entry down was: Gonorrhoea - NHS www.nhs.uk › conditions › gonorrhoea Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by bacteria called Neisseria gonorrhoeae or gonococcus. It used to be known as 'the clap'.2 points
