Straight question....do you think the problem with Henderson is more down to whoever insists on playing him out of position? Do you not think that has even a little to do with his performances?

Henderson put in a really good shift as right back in the Blackburn game. That obviously isn't his natural position. I think, like Dirk, when asked to play where the manager tells him do, the boy does his best. I think he'll make a decent CM when played in that position.

I actually think he's shown signs in the last two games that he's gaining in confidence and starting to settle. I don't think it's done him or the team any favours him playing on the right though, and in his defence that's not the lads fault.

Eh, I lost it a bit in the match thread if I'm honest, which is annoying in retrospect as it detracts from the salient points I usually try to make.

Agreed.

 

Carra refused to play at full back once, and is forgiven. Henderson plays where he is asked, and is lambasted for it.

 

I think that it is fair to criticise Kenny for playing him on the midfield flanks rather than using a specialist, but it is not fair to criticise Henderson for playing where he is asked.

 

When Lucas is fit, I can see a Henderson/Lucas pairing in a 4231 formation.
