Glad to see with Madrid though that they are finally beginning to see that money can't always buy success. Regardless of where it came from, their transfer spending should have made sure they were Spanish champs last season, then they spent a shedload more this summer. Are they running away with the league? Favourites for European cup?

They've not invested in the best coaches in recent years, or not been able to get them to join them. They need a decent coach, but they also need to give him more input into who is bought and who plays - including Raul being made a sub if he deserves to be.

The Real Madrid blueprint to success: Sell claude makelele - you're only midfield anchor man. Buy David Beckham and sell shirts in Japan. Get fu*cked in the midfield by the world and its uncle, panic, buy Thomas Graveson (who not only is shit - but isn't said anchor man anyway) lose more games, sack manager.
