God help us if England ever play Israel, it would make some heads spin around here.

Why?

A requisite re-ratification of the Balfour Declaration is all I can think of - including the exhumation of Winston Churchill to put his sarcophagus up on the podium to re-defend Britain's God-given right, as winners of The Great War, to be "The Chosen" right-minded arbiters of what should happen to people thousands of miles from Britain - that is, when they are not being conveniently dispatched as cannon fodder to the Dardanelles, and trying to secure easier albeit ill-fated passage, for the glory of Britain, through the Bosphorus by filling it with the sacrificial blood of the "theirs not to reason why, there's but to do and die" innocent.

A small price to play for such a potential quality and prestigious fixture though, n'est-ce pas....

Wembley would be packed to the rafters with half and half scarves I'd say.

I despise international footy and i despise ingerlund and all the shite that surrounds them.

Honest question mate - why do you come in this thread so much then? It’s specifically about an international football tournament.

We all hate Everton and Man City - and yet create and go in the *shakes head* and "new bitters" threads all the time, don't we?

Lots of threads about things people hate are the most populous/popular on here.

Chill out.  @an tha is only following the crowd.

I’m very chilled mate, hence the wording and tone of the question.

The threads you mention are about teams we have shared issue with in line with supporting our team. Going on a thread about international football when you hate and don’t follow it isn’t the same.

I like an tha, which I bet he is really happy and relieved about

Being lumped in with England fans when you're a red is like one of those episodes of the twilight zone where people wake up and find they're in the deep south or something and being chased by the Clan, then they knock on a door for help and a giant onion opens it or some shit.

"Section 31 was just an ordinary man minding his own business when suddenly he woke to find hismelf in Trafalgar Square surrounded by drunken, racist estate agents, singing 'three lines' on a shirt, and simultaneously making racial slurs about Italians while also drinking Peroni. In a desperate effort to escape he got into a taxi and said 'take me to Anfield. But the taxi driver, who is an Evertonian, turns around and says 'what's an Anfield?'.

Fixed it for you mate.

That is a question that has crossed my mind whilst reading this thread.

Sometimes you have to consider why people present a particular view. I'm not doubting the view is not sincerely held but to try to find ways to make it even more forcibly and continually might mean that they are trying to tell you something about themselves. What they are and often just as important, what they are not.

An example of this I've noticed on different forums over the years is the subject of soaps. There will be a thread perhaps called "Coronation Street gossip" or suchlike and more often than not loads will post in it to tell you they hate Coronation street and indeed soaps altogether. Why do so many do that? If it was a thread about Cricket for example, not nearly as many would bother to tell you they cant stand the game, they would see the thread title, see it was something they werent interested in and give it a swerve. They are trying to tell you something about themselves, perhaps that they are more intelligent, sophisticated, cool, switched on, caring, theyre not an ist or a phobe, thick etc. Often they just want to be in with the prevailing pack and earn easy reps.

Or it could be they just hate ingurland

Yep. I assume that's why you never venture into the apostrophe thread mate.

Don't sell him short, and even besides, why let it preclude an oblique, overblown response....

It's better than circuitously arguing with him, no?

Although, I guess we could just all call each other "cunt" and keep the forum moving along at a nice, clipped pace.

I think you will find my posts in it are pretty low in quantity and next to fuck all - if not actually fuck all when games are on....i admit i make a few 'fuck ingerlund posts' driven by my hatred of them.

Is that childish? Yeah on reflection it is, but hey...i admit i vent and it is probably better to say nothing.

I like you too, hence why I repped your post directly under the one of yours to which I replied.

So, no need to buy a lottery ticket this weekend eh.

Long live childishness.  After all, "suffer little children", said Jesus.

A great shame his biggest Church has interpreted it the wrong way, or at least didn't read all the definitions of "suffer" properly in the Oxford.

Hmm yeah well we all know what the thought is behind such responses regardless of the posters involved. Cunt is usually involved on both sides.
