Tory Cabinet Thread

I havent got a clue about economics but this is on the bbc

don’t be fooled by the tax cuts.

The tax burden - the percentage of the nation's income going to the taxman - is still set to rise to a post-war high, according to the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).

It says the largest contribution to that is the freezing of most thresholds related to taxes on incomes, so they don’t rise with inflation.

That so-called fiscal drag will net the Treasury £45bn by 2029 and create four million new income tax payers according to the OBR.

Compare that to the cut in the main National Insurance Contribution rate - which costs the treasury £10bn.

In effect it’s funding that by raiding our paycheques.

Useless Tory twat. It says it there 'long term health issues'.

If its a long term health issue chances are it causes chronic symptoms which prevent you from being able to work without causing pain or distress.

I really hope Labour are pulling a rope a dope on us all, but they're uninspiring to put it mildly.

It's just bollocks.

The 'philosophy' Conservatives espouse about 'small government' and giving more people to control their own lives depends on the kind of tax cuts/wage rises that would give people hundreds if not thousands of extra pounds in their pocket a month rather than pennies.

The idea that reducing the state gives 'you' more money means you can go and start your own business or get your own healthcare or whatever, but that simply doesn't work with the kind of margins these people have - and they know it.

The only time anything like that has happened in my lifetime was post Covid, when people had saved so much money that the quit their shit jobs and went in new directions, be it holidays or new careers or just not  giving a fuck. Now THAT is libertarianism. But guess what, these cunts didn't like that. Somewhat mysteriously, a crunch in living standards and hikes in prices soon followed which meant that any money people did have saved to give themselves a 'happy life' buffer was soon swallowed up and the masses were back in the red again - treading hot coals, just the way we like them.
