Always wanted to land at Kai Tak airport but they replaced it with a much bigger airport on reclaimed land much further away. I've also found the Kowloon Walled City to be intriguing thanks to books, movies and TV but again the whole thing was razed to the ground soon after the British handover.

They've postponed second reading of the extradition bill as a result of the clashes between police and civilians.

More protests called for Sunday.

I don't know if the government can allow itself to back down, but obviously I hope it does.

Not going to happen.

China know that no-one in the rest of the world gives a shit and in a couple of years this will all be forgotten.

Went in 2004 and loved it. Went on one of those old Enter the Dragon boats late at night that served food and ale. Was amazing. Went to Macau and Guangzhou from there which were both good day trips.

Macau is the place where Hong Kong goes to gamble as there are no official casinos in HK. The men and women go at different times of the day.

Went to the Peninsula hotel for afternoon tea then went back late at night for a drink in the bar on one of the top floors. Has an amazing view of tge harbour all lit up at night.

Stayed out all night and ended up in some dodgy restaurant with some really shady locals who wouldn't look out of place as baddies in a John Woo film. I'm still waiting for my starter to come but didn't want to piss off the staff incase one of them shot me.

Hong Kong has been left in shock after a night of violence on Sunday, which saw dozens of masked men storm a train station.

The men - dressed in white shirts and suspected to be triad gangsters - assaulted pro-democracy protesters and passers-by in the Yuen Long area.

This is the first time this kind of violence has been seen in the ongoing anti-extradition demonstrations.

Several lawmakers questioned why police were slow to arrive at the scene.

Footage posted on social media showed dozens of men attacking people with wooden rods and metal sticks inside the station.

Forty-five people were injured, with one person in critical condition.

Seems there was a bit of a delay on the police response here - dicey.

I was left in shock by the complete absence of any kung fu moves in all this. And not a single attacker or protestor flew by spraying bullets from two guns at the same time. Hardly the Hong Kong we used to know.

They had a piece on this on the Radio interviewing some Professor who studies these things.

He was saying it's a fairly standard thing to do and has a lot of history behind it in Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China.

Government effectively orders the Police to turn a blind eye whilst the locals all get the message - the Government are in charge and will do anything they please to maintain order... today it's the Triads, tomorrow it's the Army
