Good value family holidays for this summer

Recommended Posts

I’m currently looking at options for a week’s holiday with my girlfriend and my 6 year old daughter and wonder if anyone has any advice or recommendations.

needs to be mid August - thinking 8-15

looking for a week

needs to be affordable, and so thinking UK might be best option. Caravan or chalet type place.

ive had a look at a place called Ty Mawr near Conway because it’s near the zipworld place ive wanted to take her to for a while, but reviews are hit and miss around cleanliness.

im near leeds, so if staying UK would probably think about wales, lakes, Dorset or Devon.

having said that, somewhere cheap-ish abroad might be worth a look too.

any thoughts appreciated.

cheers.

Weymouth is nice

If you drive(or even if you don't local trains where good) you have monkey world, Bovingdon Tank museum, Weymouth Sea Life Adventure Park are good. Plenty of houses and cottages for private rent and if you drive it might be cheaper to book one a few miles from the town

We’ve stayed a few times at place in Brean in Somerset called Holiday resort unity, it’s great for the kids got a water park on site and a theme park.

Ask A Red. He has places. But take your own bins.

Would you want someone called Spunkmouse staying in your house? Might involve some unpleasant cleaning up.

At least it’s not Spunkhorse though, I suppose.

Llyn peninsula in north-west Wales is one of the loveliest places in the world. Go there. It’s ace.

Camping on New Brighton beach is where it’s at.

Flamingoland is always good. We go every year for a week as a side to our 2 week holiday - but not this year as the Mrs and kids have decided on a two week £9K holiday to Florida!!!!

On the upside, we go a week on Sunday

You're better going abroad. Guaranteed that if you book a summer holiday in England, you'll be playing board games in your caravan like in that episode of Father Ted.
