Played a few frames against my boy earlier. Breaks of 19, 18 and a couple of 16’s were enough for me to run out a comfortable 4-0 winner.

Those breaks would be enough to be beating McGill 4-0 , he's stinking the place out at the minute.

The way McGill has his chin so far to the side of the cue has always irrationally irritated me. There are others that play that way but none of their cue actions seem to be as pronounced as his.

 

But then again, it works for him so what do I know? He’s usually a better player than what he’s showing here.

I like Williams plus Higgins and am another that wanted Ronnie to win it - think its because its from the golden age of snooker when these 3 Hendry, Hunter and a couple others were winning everything.

 

Most of the twats are out now (not a big fan of Mark Allen but not that fussed) at least.

He is a hard fella not to like. Last year or it might have been the UK Championship, he was on one of those interviews in a car with Steve Davies. Came across really humble and down to earth. Not an atom of charisma between them like.

Yeah he's excellent. Was always good on ITV. The BBC needed someone new in.

Drama on the other table already. Trump has won the first two frames to lead 7-3. The last frame Trump had no right to win. Battled back to a respotted black and Higgins missed an easy-ish go at potting it.

The Trump / Higgins sessions this morning were as good a session of snooker as you will see. 8:8 going into the final session later. Higgins was 7:3 down at one point but rattled off 5 on the bounce. Should have been 9:7 to be honest. 

 

Winner of that tie wins it I reckon.
