All is unquestionably not all right in the England camp.

This is execrable.

Alongside the ultra positive public messages coming from them at the same time as England are being dismantled. Today was a good day apparently. I'm expecting Root to come out and firmly insist we're still in it even after we've lost this test.

Steve Smith is in a league of his own with bat in hand. Great batting conditions, obviously, but he's just taking the piss.

At the start of the day, I said to my son and others that he'd make 200+.

He'll be in a league of his own when he goes to England and makes up for the embarrassing way we surrendered in a couple of Tests in the last Ashes series there.

Home track bullying is too easy in cricket nowadays.  Far too easy.

Aren't you touring South Africa next in a test series? Their wickets should suit you a lot more than the Sub continent or England.

I'm just not falling for Smith hype because he's made 229 against a pop-gun England attack on a road.

He's a good bat for sure.  But so were Clarke and Ponting as captains before him, both averaging mid-50s while in charge.

True, but at this moment in time he is pulling away from the other batsmen who want to claim that number one spot. I think there are more technically better batsmen about, Smith is very unorthodox. Probably why he is so hard to get out on road like pitches.

Yeah, you wouldn't recommend his technique to kids, but you can't argue against it.

I think it is a case of, if something works then stick to it. If he goes through an extended bad patch with the bat it will be a lot harder for him to get out of the run imo.
