Just discovered this video recently. "Arthur McBride" is one the most brilliant anti-war songs and I think Paul Bradys' version is the definitive.

This is a great little "film" of the song.

Went to a night at one of the bars near me on Thursday night and it was mint. There's a place called the Hip Hop Chip Shop and they took over the gaff for the night. Fish, Chips, Mushy Peas, good beers and loads of great Hip Hop being spun by a DJ in the corner. Heard loads of good stuff I'd never heard before too.

Some highlights:

Masterpiece - Clarence Reid

Make your move - Hieroglyphics

Sienfeld - Jeru the Damaja

Fading - Rodney P

Electric relaxation - Tribe called quest

Love - J Dilla

Let's Ride - Q Tip

Watch out now - The Beatnuts

Callin' Out - Lyrics Born

Halftime - Nas

Full Clip - GangStarr

If you're a bit of a hibbedy hop fan then check out anything in there. Good stuff.

50 years ago yesterday the beach boys pet sounds and Bob Dylans blonde on blonde were released.

Imagine being some kid in a record store and walking out with those two albums under your arm, then going home and realising you've struck gold.

At the risk of sounding ancient I saw him at the Stadium. I was very young at the time and it was one of the first concerts I ever went to.

He was absolutely fucking superb and I remember thinking concerts were generically brilliant assuming they would all be like this , A few months later ELP shattered that illusion, I still count Rory Gallagher among the best live shows I  have ever seen. The Live in Europe album captures the experience of seeing him very well . Just pure energy.
