A wonderful clip from one of my favourite ever films, Elmer Gantry.

Gets me every time. I LOVE this film.

I suppose it reminds me a little of The Good The Bad and the Ugly in the sense that people around the main characters are wholly devoted to a noble cause and MEAN it, and the protagonists have their own agendas that mean they play along for a bit. But they know they're phony.

What a character Elmer Gantry is.

Anyway, one of my favourite cinematic moments is when Grace Kelly kisses James Stewart in Rear Window.

And a young lad fell in love right there and then...

Sam's speech at the end of The Two Towers is a superb moment in the midst of many superb moments across the trilogy.

Malcom Tucker's "Don't ever call me fucking English again" from In The Loop.

The clean getaway for the gang in Ocean's Eleven is also pretty cool.

This scene from The Straight Story...just beautiful.

I think you must have a bit of dust in your eye there mate...

This whole film is full of amazing scenes, you could have the bar scene or ending too.

Shed fucking buckets of tears at this film time and time again.

Angelo Badalamenti's soundtrack is just brilliant.

What makes it all the more poignant is that lead actor Richard Farnsworth was suffering from terminal cancer at the time, and killed himself a year later.

I was going to post this. Fantastic introduction to a character and a piece of film that always takes my breath away.

The well scene from Lawrence Of Arabia is a visual treat as opposed to most of the examples in this thread which are about emotional punch. Just a masterclass in cinematography by David Lean and Freddie Young.

This cannot be bettered.

Sheer cinematic perfection. Pure genius at work...

Repped when I get in

That is my favourite scene in the history of cinema.

Bought the Clint 30/30 box set a few weeks back.Got to get stuck into it.
