Gerard Houllier's AGM speech in full Good evening everybody and let me start by wishing you a happy, successful and healthy 2004. Believe me, I know how important health is. It's almost a year since we last met and I want to share my thoughts with you about where we are and where we want to go. I don't propose to talk at length, instead I hope this speech will be like a mini-skirt: short enough to grab your attention and long enough to cover the subject. I'll start with a word about our current situation and go on to consider four different areas - the vision we have for your club, for our club, what is our mission, how do our objectives map out over the next th…

Owen set to dump agents Jan 6 2004 By Chris Bascombe, Liverpool Echo MICHAEL OWEN may quit agents SFX this summer amid increasing concerns with how he's being represented. The Liverpool striker's contract with the organisation ends in July and he could walk away from the agency when his next Anfield deal has been negotiated. Owen will continue talks on a new four-year contract with Liverpool in the New Year. But the man the striker will trust to secure a deal is his advisor Tony Stephens, who has overseen Owen's progress since the forward was a youngster. Stephens currently works for SFX on a part-time basis. Comment…

Last nights AGM has made feel even worse over this whole debacle, but one thing that has come out of it i think is Houllier's total unwaivering belief that he can still do it,something i dont think he can. Instead of doing the decent thing and going with a degree of status in are eyes the man wont budge and now it looks like moores will go down with him,and probably parry. He claims to love the club something i dont doubt but he going to take people who have life long connections with the club down with him and its inexcusable. Steve Morgan is a Red like all of us and if we had that sort of fortune we would do the same thing, buy into the club and try and make a diff…

I love Moores as our Chairman, so this is very sad. MOORES HINTS AT REDS EXIT Monday 5th January 2004 Liverpool David Moores has hinted he could step down at the end of the season, while boss Gerard Houllier has won the backing of the club's board at their AGM. Both men met a number of the club's shareholders at their annual AGM as they discussed ways of moving Liverpool forward. Moores, who insisted he still "backed the values and objectives of the manager" also had to withstand a sustained verbal assault from the club's third-biggest shareholder, building magnate Steve Morgan, who does not hold a position on the board. Moores has been the majority sh…

My ten year old nephew says to me on seeing the team sheet, 'Uncle Mav, why is Henchoz playing right back' Because Houllier is a fuckin' knobhead replies I. He insists on playing players out of position because he knows best. I wasn't at City away but I've been impressed by Semmy in that position but he is not a Ged 'fave' therefore Biscan starts at centre half and poor old Steph is moved to RB where he looked like a fish out of water and Semmy doesn't even rate a slot on the bench. On the subject of the bench I have two words Cheyrou and Traore. What will propel Ged's arse out of Anfield at the end of the season more than any other issue will be his persistence with…

http://skysports.planetfootball.com/article.asp?id=179676&cpid=8 Liverpool are believed to have concluded a €20 million deal for French striker Djibril Cisse. A number of leading French sources, including the much respected daily L'Equipe, have stated that Cisse has already put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal. Liverpool have moved quickly to seal the £14 million move for Cisse, in order to fend off interest from a number of top European clubs - including Manchester United and Chelsea. The Reds missed out on Cisse's Auxerre team-mate Jean-Alain Boumsong to Rangers, after they failed to agree terms with the player's agent Richard Bettoni - who al…

What the fuck? I feel really sorry for Semmy, after breaking in to the first team you'd have thought his performances would have merited a run in the side but no, a bad half hour against City and it's back to square one. Compare it to the countless chances Houllier gives some of the shite that HE bought and it's obvious to everyone that this cunt is putting his own ego before the good of the club. Steve Heighway must be tearing his hair out at the academy. Henchoz is a centre back and a fucking good one at that but it seems Houllier's found another 'favourite' in Biscan.

Im more than pessimistic about this signing if it happens. The figure spoken about is £14m and from what Ive seen (which admittedly is limited) he doesnt look shit hot. I also wonder if Pongolle is the superstar he is getting hyped up to be what is his position gonna be if Owen stays? Will we need another striker? Admittedly at the moment it looks like we need a striker with the injuries but with Owen and Baros fit we looked good up front. I fear Henchoz has seen his best days and with Biscan being total shite I would be looking for a big name centre back first. A left back who can tackle and head the ball and a central midfielder who can actually put pres…

Thinking about doing an awards for 2003 on he back cover of the next issue. Obviouslt there'll be the usual ones, player of the year, goal of the year etc... But I'm looking for some alternative ones too. Will use the 'Worst Houllier quote' and other things like 'Gobshite of the year' but does anyone have any other ideas?

...by crippling Terry's brother ahead of the Chelsea game on Wednesday. Nothing like starting a grudge match!! In fairness to Terry, the tackle was bad and JAR was lucky to get away without a free-kick, let alone a card. Up until then the lad had played well, and he must have been gutted to leave the field with his family in the stands on what was a big game for him. He was also one of the few Yokel people not shouting the odds in pre-match interviews. Pity someone couldn't have done the same to that mouthy little fucker Darren Way. Better than Steven Gerrard, MY ARSE.

It appears that he's on his way to Man Utd from PSV. It would be better if he signed for Everton. Then they could have The Dynamic Duo up front. Fatman and Robben:whistle:

FAO: Dave U (Wright and Otsemobor)

Whats your opinion of Otsemobor ? I have not really seen enough of the guy myself to comment on him but I do have this feeling that he will follow in Stephen Wright's foot-steps and sign for a smaller club within a season or two. Jon looks lightning quick but from your reserve-match reports he seems prone to the odd mistake (not unlike a certain Traore). Is David Raven a more likly long term rightback for the first team ?

I know we have Noel White, Rick Parry and the like on the board, anyone got a list of the others and a profile of what else they do outside the club? i.e. their background etc. It would be interesting to see the men that behind the club.

The TLW Quiz of the first half of the season is now over and the top of the table looks like this: 1st Kristen Stromme 18 2nd EVO 17 3rd Beni 17 4th Ian G 17 5th Stu Monty 16 There were several more on 16/25 correct answers but Stu's prediction (25) on the bonus question (How many league goals had Liverpool scored as per 31st December 2003) came the closest to the correct answer, which was 28. This question was also used to separate positions 2-4. Not dropping anyone in it, I can reveal that self confessed football hater, Haje Jan Kamps finished above 8 other participants.
