  2. I've just seen that Deborah James has just died. She had a similar prognosis as I did, but i somehow jammed survival. All I know about her is what I've read and the odd bits on BBC news & breakfast, but I feel genuinely emotional about seeing the news. Her ability to talk about her disease and help and inspire others is quite something else. Gutted. Which feels very weird for someone I don't know.

  3. I went to a College Film Festival last night as my eldest son had a short film he’d made, as part of his course, included. It was nice for the students to have their films shown on a big screen and in front of an audience. He hated school. We’d moved just before he was due to transfer to ‘big school’ so he didn’t know anyone. It’s a school that gets good academic results but petty discipline, and stuffy uniform, just weren’t for him. He was miserable for most of his time there and his GCSE results didn’t really reflect his ability. Anyway, College has been fantastic for him. He’s completed a BTEC in Creative Media, he’s loved it and has worked incredibly hard. There was some real talent on show but my boy won first prize for his film. I don’t think I’ve ever been prouder, there were tears.

  4. Two pages or so of arguing over whether Richarlison is any good. He's not, he's at his level, mid to lower end of the league player. Let's move on.

  5. It sound great but the SNP are fucking useless at getting anything done around here. If they get independence, they will not have clue what to do next. They remind me of the underpants gnomes.

  7. No idea. What I know 100% is he will never compare to Suarez in absolutely any way at all, Suarez even cheats better. Anyone who makes that comparison clearly never watched Suarez play football and has zero idea about why he was loved at our club.

  9. Lads, it’s simple. he’s worth at least £60m but also worth £40m. He’s been a success despite being unsuccessful because he’s not expected to be successful. he’s like Suarez but not like Suarez and like Mane and Jota but not worth the same as them or as good as them, but he’s not like Heskey because he was 26. If you don’t understand you don’t understand but those that understand do.

  10. His penalty scoring abilty over the last two months of the season definately helped them. From August until the end of March, a grand total of 4 goals. From April until end of season, a lot better 6 goals, 3 of which were penalties. Amazing player

Don’t tell me what I don’t understand you little gobshite. when you’re constantly having to explain to lots and lots of people who have been watching footie and following this club for many, many more years than you, why they are wrong and your are right, maybe stop and have a think about just how right you actually are.

  28. Terry McDemott's against Spurs. Easily the greatest team goal. You can have individual moments of brilliance but here was one team not so much dominating another one as simply ignoring it. Speed, vision, movement, skill - it's the purest football you'll ever see. And if it's before your time, then tough: read a fucking history book.

  29. I honestly don’t know where to start and equally as an English person living in Scotland I don’t know if I have any right to be part of such a life changing decision. If I look around the world, to places that I don’t have a stake in I would ‘probably always’ lean towards countries seeking their independence from another country but in this situation it really does feel that the Scottish independence argument is way more heart than head. And that’s not the criticism it may sound because if I was Scottish independence may seem quite logical but from my point of view I can’t get past the obstacles of creating an entirely new national infrastructure when we can’t even get people to work in the industries we do have and the cost of all that and how it will be funded, all seen through the lens of the Brexit catastrophe. My affinity is far more inclined towards people with similar interests and values than simple nationality. Oh and I can’t tell you how divisive the build up to the last referendum was and the thought of opening those old wounds again makes me feel a bit ill

  35. Of course. Go back and read what you've posted you massive whopper. Comparing richarlison to Suarez. Jesus. It's one of the funniest things posted on this forum. Next you'll be reminding us of what an underrated goalscorer jelevic was.

  37. You have to take a moment to realise exactly what she did. By telling her story and letting people in to share her experiences of this awful and very personal cancer in the way she did, with humour and positivity has done so much to raise awareness and will undoubtedly save lives as a result. A remarkable and very brave young woman. May she rest in peace.

  39. So how are those checks and balances working out when you can appoint your own cabinet and stack the house of lords with people who owe you favours. Said it before and I'll say it again though, the only people to blame for this are the great British public. Johnson has never pretended to be Jed Bartlett, it was obvious to the produceds of have I got news for you what an absolute mess of a man be was. If you're from fucking Bury and you vote for someone based purely on the fact you want to see all the Pa*is sent back to Romania, you deserve all the famine and pestilence that comes your way.

  40. Just got back and in view of what has gone before had the best results I could have hoped for. Cancer is confined to the prostate so no spread. I still have a month to look forward to of going to Mount Virgil in Rickmansworth for radio therapy, dates to be confirmed. Preliminary scan on 5th July, so they are moving pretty quick. From here to Rickmansworth includes about 20% round the M25 so it's a balls ache. However, compared to what some of you lot on here (and your loved ones) have gone through I've got off lightly. All the best to all of you who are involved with having to put up with this bastard condition.

  44. Yeah you're probably right. I'm not a rap fan as such, very few albums I like as the hard knock type bluster becomes nauseous. This fella is different he spins it all on its head and asks questions, questions of himself, questions of everyone He's almost mocking the madness of it all. Here's his musings on going back to Compton after finding fame. The music switches mid track to replicate the 90s/00s sound of the area of the huge artists of that time. Lamar is unique and that Puritzer prize he won was imo well deserved.
