He's staying in the moat house with Des Walker Ive heard.

No , honestly a good signing. I remember getting carried away with the 'We are signing Pirlo' thread a few months back.

We have got to get real . He will be a great assets this year. Alonso is off so its about time the Alonso Lovvies got over him. Bit of steel in the midfield.

Waste of money. Money we need key players in other positions.

I'd sell Alonso, give Lucas his chance, and we also have Gerrard and Plessis that can play there. I'd spend the £15m on an attacking player, that money could have bought as Modric.

Dossena, Barry and Degen in the bag then. Who's next? Probably Milner. Maybe Riera after that, but probably not. Maybe Downing if we caln palm off a bunch of kids on them. No "big names", that's for sure.

Only one of Milner, Riera, Downing would be targetted for that left side.

The big question is who will be purchased for the offensive option for Dirk's role.

Barry will be a good player for us.

He looks like a Liverpool player and behaves like one. He is of a similar ability to Xabi but will put in more consistent performances and over a league campaign this will show.

If we get our new fullbacks, stick Barry in the middle and get one more attacking player (not Milner) then I think that will be enough to put in a 'challenge'.

We'll be scrapping for third if we're lucky. That is unless Spurs don't overtake us.
