Last season, I posted on this forum that I thought Ronaldo would be a better player for the mancs for the next few season and was laughed at. I think Rooney is pumped with up to ridiculous heights by the media. Dont get me wrong I hate both equally but if I had a choice I would take Ronaldo as his is way more of a threat on current form.

Rooney admitted as much himself in an interview the other day.

Rooney has more natural ability and better vision imo.

could not agree more he is a very good player, but is so typical of the press to go over the top when a young english player comes along, those people in the media mostly the written press who when he first emerged would compare him to pele as a 17year old should take a reality check ,as i said a very good player but i must agree with a previous post not half as good as ronaldo

I've been saying how over-hyped he is for a couple of years now. However, the development of The Portugese Ponce from a show pony into arguably the best player in the world this season has given me pause for thought. Regardless of the way Rooney's development pans out, though, he'll still always be the chubby thick kid who likes shagging grannies, and laughing at that will never get old.

Don't think he has 'trained on' in the last 12/15 months.

Still obviously a great player , but I once thought he was going to be

absolutely outstanding on the world stage & I don't feel he will ever attain that standard.

That might seem silly taking into account his young age , but I think he might already have peaked. ( I certainly hope so anyway )

The potential he has is frightening but I dont think anyone could say he's really developed as far as he should have given the early promise... he's still the one player I truly fear when he picks the ball up deep though

still hate him though
