Tears For Fears

A bit random but as a kid I used to think they were from Liverpool and that my older brother was mates with them. No idea why. Think it was because he used to like some of their songs.

Years ago I had some lad from work burn me loads of stuff onto discs which I could copy onto my PS3. Before the likes of Spotify and when an iPod and an iTunes account were out of my price range. 
 

All five series of The Wire, the entire Arctic Monkeys back catalogue, Eminem’s first few albums and a few other bits. I’ve still got the PS3. 
 

He also decided to put a load of Tears For Fears on one of the discs in an attempt to get me to like them, but I never respected the kid enough to listen to the stuff, let alone have it pollute my PlayStation. 
 

Same thing applies here.

It's a good album. had it on a few weeks ago. 

 

I've had some Pet Shop Boys on today. Don't worry though, they've just put the Liam Gallagher Knebworth Documentary on Netflix so after Viva La France and a wank over Melanie Laurent I'll revert to type and be a pissed up gobshite again.

Haha!  This made me smile, as I once had an argument with someone that Crowded House were from Liverpool, that I'd seen them in a boozer by the docks, and that my mate Franny was good friends with them.

 

I'd love to know who I actually meant...

 

Anyway, after hitting a Liverpool/New Zealand impasse, and these being the days before Google on your phone could settle a debate in seconds, we agreed to disagree in the end.

I thought they were from Liverpool because one of their songs mentions mount pleasant. That's the only reason I thought it.

The drum track on Everybody Wants To Rule The World is quite interesting, I only found out recently it was a drum machine. I just thought it was your run of the mill, horrible 80s drum sound.

Really ? I wouldn't of thought they would have a tribute band , I thought that was more a Queen Led Zep etc thing.

It was the mention of Mount Pleasant St but I suppose there's plenty of them around the world.
