It won't change how I vote and who I support, but that Elphicke defection sticks in the craw. Other Tories, the more moderate One Nation types I've got no problem with joining Labour, but she's both right wing and a horrible cunt to boot.

I get the whole 'embarrass Sunak' angle, but there has to be limits to this sort of gameplaying.

I was just wondering about that. Presumably the local CLP will have already had a good idea of who they wanted for their candidate; y'know, someone who can stand against the Tories. They're not going to rally around this twat.

We knew who we wanted in our constituency but we weren’t allowed a say in it. It’s a safe as houses Tory seat (they’re already spending and campaigning) but still they’re parachuting somebody in who none of us will have the same enthusiasm about trying to get elected as we would for the fella we knowingly chose. It doesn’t make sense.

CLP meeting next Wednesday where she’s gonna introduce herself properly.

Its taken two years and a countless tirade of evidence, two years of lambasting by Slipper & Co for anyone who dared question the trajectory of travel taken by this "changed" Labour Party. A lurch to the right that  has been plain for all to see, told by Labour for all to hear,  Now the penny is starting to drop for Slipper. Well done.

You do wonder who advised Starmer on 'optics' as he seems to govern entirely by algorithm and focus group. He's the anti Farage, the anti Cummings and Johnson. But in politics, sometimes you "need a bit of that".

Harold Wilson drank bitter and smoked a pipe in public, but drank brandy and smoked cigars in private.

With these polls, there's a 95% chance that the figures are within plus or minus 3%, so small movements are pretty meaningless until they're repeated elsewhere.

As for Reform, these are just the ex Kippers who think the Tories are socialists, and that Brexit would work if only we withdrew from the ECHR. Thick cunts in other words.

A proper leader would be 35 points ahead, etc.

I think the entire country is focused on getting rid of the Tories, it's like a pressure cooker, once the election is done politics will become more diverse, I reckon greens etc will start getting more backing.

in the last election, the tories had an 80 seat majority.

unless im being thick, labour have got to convince those fuck nuggets to vote for labour instead.

So the only alternative is to vote for a party that's trying to do the same as the other party. Just more competently and with a more supercilious manner.

This is not having a go at you but it's utterly depressing.
