It may not be as good as Goodfellas or Casino but it's a long way from shit.

Too long, a meandering go-nowhere story, ridiculous fight scene, too long, the story didn't make you give a shit about any of the characters, too long.  Sure there were a few scenes that were poignant and some brilliantly shot scenes, but I wouldn't never consider watching it again, or even keeping it on if I flicked over to it. It's like Last Vegas for gangsters. It's fucking shit! I actually felt like I had my Saturday night stolen!

It's all about opinions, someone was always going to enter the fray and make a name for themselves by saying it was shit, then back track a bit and say it's worth a watch, so clearly not shit.

It's got a great director and a great cast, so it's obviously worth a watch, but, compared to their best stuff, it's fucking shit. I haven't come up with this opinion to upset the frequent posters on TLW and 'make a name' for myself! (WTF?)

I posted on Twitter that I thought it was shit yesterday, but I rarely come on TLW on the weekend.

It is about opinions. I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately I didn't.

Come on mate, it's clearly not shit. If you didn't think it met your expectations then fine, but something which is shit can't be clearly worth watching.

Agreed , watched it last night.

It's too long, tries to cover too long a span of history , the characters are not really developed enough, none of women had a meaningful part and frankly I found it difficult to care about what happened to any of them . As an exercise by Scorcese to give Pacino, De Niro and Pesci a last run out together and demonstrate their exceptional acting skills it worked. If you're expecting anything close to the the Godfather then you'll be very disappointed, The last half hour De Niro did bring some poignancy to his role . Not shit as Elite says but not something you would ever watch again and the build up and expectancy far outweighed the reality. I smelt a rat when it was straight onto Netflix which it never would have been had it been the tour-de-force it was billed as.

It was straight to Netflix because Netflix bankrolled it.
