Another thing I don't like about the VAR on penalty decisions is that, when the VAR operator tells the referee he should have a look at the incident, the referee is pre-influenced, knowing that the VAR operator obviously thinks it's a penalty and therefore, it seems to me, the ref is much more likely to give it than not give it. The penalty against Poulsen being the most obvious example. I honestly think most refs wouldn't want to give that. Has there actually been any occasion when a ref has had a VAR referral and then not given the penalty?
