if only we could defend. just saw a screenshot of their second goal and it is depressing. four defenders and giroud is there unmarked in acres of space

but good that we showed a bit of fight at the end to gain a point

they re all standing there with their hsnds out going who's fault is this? well if one of you 3 decided to keep an eye on giroud instead of all 3 of you ball watching that mightnt be a goal

This shows how much we miss Sturridge.

Sterling was great supporting, but no striker options

Also shows how much of a mistake Ballotelli was.

He ruins our gameplan built on speed and movement.

Play anything like this and we can go on a decent run over the next few games.

As bad as ManU and Arse are this is not over yet (though it is damn close)

We need him badly.

Get rid of of Lambert and Borini in January and get another Striker in.

Dominated the game but conceded two bad goals from a set piece and a counter attack.

Our football is continuing to improve and we created good chances but players like coutinho and lucas finishing was poor.

Good positive signs and good to see the crowd stick with them team when we went behind, we are lacking a cutting edge up front and that is the main thing missing.

I'd like to take the positives out of that, but it really wasn't a good performance, it was a patchy one, where one side of the game starts to flatter us and the defence still looks shocking.

Basically we can press, and if we get Sturridge back and another striker we might score. But no side can build success on having to score three goals in order to win a game against a side they're battering.

Can't blame the manager for that sorry.

Third season and we still defend like amateurs, failure to recruit a striker worthy of the name in the summer despite having the funds. Saying nothing at the time about problems with the transfer policy, signing new lucrative contract. Could go on ,

Another must win game that we've pissed away. It's getting very difficult to defend this.

The frustrating thing is that we've improved in recent games but we remain absolutely toothless up front. Put Sturridge into the equation and we probably get a draw at Old Trafford and win today. The defending is as shambolic as it's been at any stage under Rodgers, that's the one constant.

Not sure what to feel about that - played alright but lacked cutting edge as usual first half but got a deserved goal...then almost inevitably couldnt defend a set piece. Is it just me or should Jones be saving that, he never got off the ground...

Powderpuff finishing 2nd half yet again, carved open for their goal but at least showed fight to get a draw.

Arsenal were shite, we made them look shite for a lot of it though, but we still didnt win and I for one can't buy all this bitters style oh we didn't win but we are winners shite.

A performance with encouraging signs but also plenty of the problems we have and look unlikely to solve. We need wins and whilst encouraging signs are welcome they aren't enough. It's another ultimately frustrating day that leaves us miles off our aim of Top 4

I can see us going on a decent run sometime soonish, but only after its too late to make a real difference.

The fact we have no real cutting edge is killing us now we at least seem to be playing reasonable football again and regardless of Sturridge's injury that shouldn't be the case after what we vhave spent, the defensive and goalkeeping problems remain but I am not sure there is enough money in the world to solve those issues, not under Rodgers.

I'd agree with most of that but top of list has to be a keeper,  Even with the team we played today we would have pissed it if we had swapped keepers at ko. Jones can distribute the ball but he is utter gash at stopping the round thing ending up in the netty thing

We very nearly did last season! Our defending was only marginally better then, Mig wasn't being plagued by his mid-game 'Nam flashbacks.
