Over the last two years, we've become a much better side and a serious threat for the league title.

 

However, as Rodgers has, rightly, cleaned house and made the squad in his image, he's also lost or discarded a lot of senior players. Carragher, Agger, Reina, Suarez, Kuyt and Maxi. That's without mentioning Johnson not being very good anymore and Lucas being sidelined.

 

Now, I'm in a position where I only really love one of our players - Gerrard - and dig no more than four - Coutinho, Sturridge, the boy Sterling and my man Skrtel - which isn't nearly enough. I need some new favourites.

 

I need the good people of this forum to tell me which players I should adopt as favourites and, most importantly, give me a reason.

 

Edit: It can't be Balotelli.

I'm getting some early love in for Markovic, and I think you should also. He's the new Paddy Berger. No other reasons required.

It's not doing it for me, as I've never seen him play. Although, if it means we can criticise Rodgers for not playing him, Ayre for saddling him with a big price tag and have a go at whoever starts in front of him, then I could be convinced.

Moreno. Gonna be the best left back in the league before too long. Fast. Very fast. Gets stuck in. Can defend. Seems to care. Works hard to try to stop crosses coming in. Got an eye for goal. Very fast. 

 

Oh, and a confident fella, judging by his dress sense at Luis Alberto's wedding.

 

So Rev you think Moreno has pace then? Think you might be hedging your bets so come off the fence.
