The FA Cup Final and (old) Wembley go hand in hand, and London, given its size, has a much better choice of pubs and places to eat.

The stadium itself is think is better and is right in the city centre. There's some good pubs there too. It's just a bit of a Ballache to get to the city itself. Was there this week and the train journey takes forever.

 

I got absolutely blitzed in the Rummer tavern opposite the castle in 2001. Had a few pints in there this week for old times sake.

Cardiff was brilliant for the finals all night boozing and everything nice and near. Wembley itself I like but London is so vast everyone ends up in different parts after the game and for a major capital it has shite closing times.

Never got a chance to go to any football matches there, but did make the Manic Street Preachers gig on the eve of the Millenium.  Fucking brilliant night out and was well impressed with the stadium.

never saw us lose there. 2001 FA Cup, 2001 Charity Shield and 2003 League Cup. if you look at it, we were underdogs for all 3 of those.

 

first one - monumenally leathered (phone falling out of top pocket into pint) onto Germany for the UEFA Cup final and then Amsterdam to watch Fowler get us into the Champions League for the first time. about as good is it ever got following the Reds when having a season-ticket.
