  5. I had this at my gym a couple of weeks ago. I've got bad IBS but tablets can usually keep it at bay during the day. I was in the gym and I got that gurgling feeling and cramps but took a tablet and its usually fine. Not this time. Into the bogs and had a big sloppy one that almost wouldnt flush. Anyway,I thought I'd go home, which is only about 5 minutes away just in case. I got outside the gym door and it kicked off again and I wasnt going back into the gym. Got in the car and was almost shitting myself. I drove home without my arse cheeks touching the seat and my feet on the pedals! A hell of a feat. Halfway I almost pulled over but clenched for all its worth and just made it. I had a shit so big that I'm sure I saw a Christmas dinner I had when I was about ten years old. I didnt shit properly for about two days as there was absolutely nothing solid in my system. I didnt even feel off colour or anything either. Really fuckin weird the way our bodies fuck us over sometimes.

  6. And? The vast majority of penalties are scored, around 90%, it's an easy, free shot on goal given to one player because it's been decided they are the designated penalty taker, it skews stats.

I definitely got the sense in the ground yesterday that he's run out of rope when it comes to this unconditional NOONEZ NOONEZ NOONEZ support.

  10. Can you? Every time a goal goes in now there is a nagging feeling in the back of your mind that it may be ruled out. Follow that up with the heart-sinking announcement of "VAR check" and it removes all the good feeling from scoring. When VAR eventually does make a ruling, the moment is gone and the second "celebration" is more relief than enjoyment.

  11. Yeah, but we are in the South East/Coast about an hour from the Tunnel, so we get a head start. It’s still a proper trek. Driving to Garda was fine, we stopped for a night in the Black Forest, so 8/9 hr to there, then another 5/6 to Garda Having a car made the holiday tbh, meant we could get round all the lakes, drove to Venice but got a bus to Verona. It was worth the drive, which I wasn’t sure I would have agreed with till I did it Journey back was a killer, the Mont Blanc tunnel was closed and we wanted to go to Interlaken and the scenic route which threw us out on the non motorway roads to Djion. Kept the cost down though, Tesco vouchers paid the train, about £300 in diesel and two nights in hotels enroute maybe £300. Compare that to £1k for flights for the four of us and the hiring a car for 2 weeks, boys had an adventure and Switzerland was amazing, they’ve got a deal with the devil that lot, political neutrality, hidden bullion, multi functional knives, perfect publish transport, cuckoo clocks and the prettiest countryside in the world. Bastards We’re going to a centre parcs near Saarbrucken, for a week which will take us about 7 hours to drive to. Then our final week is another 7/8 hours from there. Luckily I’ve got quite a big comfy car that eats the miles and the kids are good for it. The German centre parcs that week is literally a third of the cost of the Thetford one for the same week. And I won’t have to spend the week with British tryhard pretending to be middle class types

  12. Jurgen's penultimate home game ended with a 4-2 win after a mixed bag of a performance against Spurs. The Reds were 4-0 up and cruising but ended up hanging on after a late Spurs fightback threatened to cause huge embarrassment. TLW Editor Dave Usher is joined by Paul Natton to reflect on a strange afternoon at Anfield, while the lads also have a discussion about what might happen this summer regarding the futures of a number of players. 13. Well that was better, I suppose. It didn’t feel that way at full time, but on reflection this was mostly good up until both teams made substitutions and the game turned on its head. Thankfully we had a four goal cushion, and thankfully Paul Tierney and VAR chose to ignore a reasonable penalty appeal for Spurs that could have got them back to 4-3. Had that happened, I think we’d have blown it. There were serious flashbacks to last season when we blew a 3-0 lead to Spurs and then Jota popped up seconds later to win it. This was so close to the same thing happening, and it would mostly have been on Klopp for the substitutions he made, which really unsettled us. However, we’re 4-0 up, he should have been able to send on the entire u18 side and still hold onto the result. I think I’ll just focus mostly on the good though, as we’ve not had too much of that over the past 5 or 6 weeks. We played pretty well for an hour. Very well even. The best we’ve played for a couple of months, easily. Of course it helps when you put a few chances away. We’ve probably ‘played’ better than this but when you don’t convert any chances it’s easy to overlook that. I also think the opponent is a factor. Spurs are so easy to play against it’s a miracle they are in the top five. At half time I really thought there was a good chance we’d get six or seven, and had Klopp not made those changes I’m sure we would have. So fucking easy to play against with that high line and no pressure on the ball. The funny thing was for the first few minutes we couldn’t even get a kick of the ball. As much as I’m being critical of Spurs, one thing I will give them credit for is some of their one touch passing and movement. We couldn’t get near them at times, but it didn’t really get them anywhere because it wasn’t in dangerous areas. And then when we did finally get the ball, we looked like we were in the mood and they were struggling to cope with us. The first thing to say is that Mo finally shrugged off that wretched form he’s been in since coming back from the injury. This was the Salah we saw all season prior to that injury. Not brilliant, occasionally infuriating, but always a danger and constant threat to either score or create a goal.

  14. Imagine the Rawk mods on here. "Right this thread is locked until someone has something of interest to say" TLW closed since 2012. I'd rather be here wading through shit, the freedom to go anywhere I like, avoid or ignore the places and people I don't, than the clean streets of Rawk where all opinions lead to the same place, boring.

  22. His lack of pace is one of the most redundant talking points out there. He is an excellent presser and he is in the 99th percentile for shot attempts as a midfielder. So the lack of pace doesnt stop him being able to harass the opposition effectively and it doesnt stop him being able to create space for shot opportunities. So whats the problem again?

  30. Monday Apr 29: The PL clubs have voted in favour of a kind of spending cap. Both manc teams voted against it, as did Villa for some bizarre reason, while Chelsea abstained. What the fuck are they abstaining for? Anyway, it isn’t confirmed yet as this vote was about agreeing to explore the possibility and there’ll be another vote in June when the proposal is finalised. I haven’t read up on it too much as it feels pretty pointless anyway. The top clubs can spend 4.5 times the amount that the lowest earning club brings in per year. Apparently we already spend less than that so the only teams this benefits are ones who want to spend more than that. Had Newcastle voted no it would have made sense, but I don’t know what the fuck Villa are up to. There’s a report today that Mo wants a new contract and there’s another report that Liverpool have no plans to cut him loose this summer. No idea where either report came from, but if Mo’s agent if putting it out there that he wants a new contract just two days after what happened with him and Klopp, that’s pretty fucking snide. Maybe that’s not what happened, who knows. Not too long ago I’d have said it makes sense to extend him. He was having a very productive season. Now? I’d be surprised if it happened because things have changed considerably. Klopp is leaving, Edwards is back, and Mo’s form has been absolutely horrendous since he returned from injury. Edwards doesn’t like handing out big deals to players who are over 30. Klopp won’t be here to push for it and for all anybody knows Slot might fancy not having to deal with the potential noise any time he names a starting eleven with Mo not in it, or if he brings him off when he’s having a stinker. If Mo starts next season looking like himself again then maybe I could see Edwards coming up with some kind of incentivised contract, but as of now I think the most likely scenario is that Mo goers into next season with one year left and then Edwards will assess it as the season goes on.

  35. Regarding Kevin D's point, I partly agree but not entirely. 1. Lift it over the keeper into an empty net. 2. Go around him and put it into the empty net. There should not be an option 3 or 4. There should not be anything else in his mind other than the above. Either is good, but option 1 is by far the easiest given the way the keeper committed himself so early. Squaring it was risky as a defender was right there with Gakpo. Hitting it straight at the keeper is of course the option he took, as he's taken no other option for the past 5 weeks or so. Just when it looked like he was settling down in front of goal he's reverted back to that 'hit and hope' shit that strikers with no confidence go for. I'm sick of him going for that 'safe' option. Sometimes it will work and the ball will squirm through the keeper (Darren Bent made a career out of it), but when that happens I'll still criticise the finish (and did do earlier in the season when me and Paul argued about his goals for Uruguay which I said were bad finishes). Make the right decision and if the execution isn't right then we'll deal with that. Far too often he's making the blatantly wrong decision because he isn't confident enough to go for the corners or lift it. At this point though I don't think Klopp and the coaching staff can be excused of all blame either. It's their job to improve players, work on their weaknesses and stop them doing making the same mistakes over and over. Do they actually work on finishing with him (and Diaz for that matter, who is also wasteful as fuck)? Sure as hell doesn't seem like it. Have they bollocked him for constantly blasting at the keeper? Doubt it, because it's turned into his default finish now. Virtually every single time that's what he's going for and it hardly ever works. They should be working on this shit with him every fucking day. I reckon they've probably tip toed around the issue because they haven't wanted to make it a 'thing' and get in his head any more than it is already. They should have been drilling it into him in every session though and had all kinds of sports psychologists helping him as well. The majority of the blame is on Nunez himself of course, he needs to chill the fuck out and make better choices instead of panicking. I also suspect he probably isn't one of those players that really studies their craft in order to get better, so that's on him too. That said, if I'm Klopp and Lijnders I'm asking myself how the fuck have I not been able to stop him doing this crap every time he goes clean through. As I said on the pod, it's really not hard. He's failing miserably at the easiest part of his job and it's infuriating because I don't think it should be that hard to fix. It's clearly a mental thing, and that chance he missed yesterday was piss easy. Michael Owen must have scored at least 50 of his career tally in that situation. Just fucking lift it for fucks sake.

  36. Strange behaviour all round. Always amazes me that high profile people bother with social media, or at least don't get someone to manage it for them. When people talk of threats etc they're never (or very rarely) genuine or credible. We then get this bollocks how it's "Liverpool fans" doing it, when it's probably a half dozen oddballs. The fact he sat there and bothered to delete all those posts makes me question the lad's mental health and maturity to be honest. Nunez has had huge support, continues to have huge support. Fans by and large get shitloads of grief these days for little reward. Klopp is vastly wealthy. The owners are vastly wealthy, the players are vastly wealthy. Any one of them would (and have) fuck us off at the drop of a hat. The club plays under market value to its non playing staff, does fuck all for the anfield community, tried to furlough its staff, tried to fucking copyright the name liverpool and the fucking liver bird. Not a peep from Klopp, just wants you to respond to his fist pump- but will shout and scream at you if you request a fist pump and he doesn't consider one appropriate. Klopp fucking cries when people sing his name, cries when they try to high five him, cries when someone writes or says something he doesn't like. The fans do day jobs all week and pay what little they have to watch a game which is increasingly shite, purely to support the club of their fathers. That always has been and always will be taken for granted. I've never liked going to live games because I don't like to pay good money to be treated like an animal. You only get that experience in stadiums, concerts and night clubs. Shit overpriced booze and food, get corralled out as soon as they want you gone, thank you and fuck off. Then you have to get all this the liverpool family marketing shite rammed down your throat. Yeah, watch me play shite on loads of money, support me anyway lest Klopp call you a slag and say he'd rather give your seat to the Chinese. Buy your kid a two tier fucking shirt with the most expensive being over a hundred notes, sold to you by club staff who're being paid less than you'd get in Asda, in the shadow of streets that look like something from Fallout 4. Fuck, right, off. How anyone idolises these cunts amazes me. As a form of entertainment now I consider it to be somewhere between Netflix and the pictures. We've been ratted out here boys. Watch it.
